This has gotten out of hand. It really has. WHy can't you people on the left see this kind of thing and say something?

I think Obama was one of the worst Presidents we have ever had , but you know what? If his wife sent our school books and our librarian declined them, I WOULD see to it that she was fired. If I was invited to the White House , I WOULD attend. If the President had wanted to be on my TV show, I WOULD have had him on, etc etc etc and I just don't understand this attitude. Some things simply are more important than politics, and showing a shared respect is one of them.

Sounds like this librarian just wanted a chance to announce her politics to the world.

Her job is to educate children, not inundate them nor us with her beliefs. She should be terminated from her position.

That, and whoever heard of a library turning down donations? She's just plain bad at her job.

haha. I immediately felt stupid after I typed, "yeah I said it" when I actually didn't say it.

After reading more of the article, I agree with the librarian's point that perhaps a less fortunate school could use the books, but there is nothing stopping her from just forwarding on the damn books to an less fortunate school or district. its the kind of grand standing for attention that would make roy moore blush.

This is the new reality we are left with after Trump destroyed them in November.

They said they were going to resist everything. They didn't hide it.

Returning library books must be worth 3 points on the #resist scale.

Pathetic

Sort of ironic to see modern day "progressive" educators try to label anything else a "cliche."

She needs to read about Theodor Geisel's political leanings, then make a decision.

I'm not a big fan of calling women counts, but...

...look at this horse shite county countness in bold.

quote:

"My students have access to a school library with over nine thousand volumes and a librarian with a graduate degree in library science. Multiple studies show that schools with professionally staffed libraries improve student performance," wrote Phipps Soeiro. Phipps Soeiro also criticized Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and the Trump administration's education policy. "Why not go out of your way to gift books to underfunded and underprivileged communities that continue to be marginalized and maligned by policies put in place by Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos?" she wrote.

Those dem talking points sure are effective.

The Cambridge school system says the opinions in the editorial do not represent the district and released a statement, saying "the employee was not authorized to accept or reject donated books on behalf of the school or school district." "We have counseled the employee on all relevant policies, including the policy against public resources being used for political purposes," the district said

Translated: " This bitch is dumb and way out of line but since she is such a SJW count we cant without being called discriminatory. So, its just easier to keep her"

Good point, Dr. Seuss wasn't exactly 'Mr. Conservative.' But I'm sure facts don't figure in this -itch's 'rationale.'

Oddly Dr. Seuss was a massive liberal; almost to the point of being Marxist. So, in a totally ironic way, you have a liberal librarian rejecting a liberal writer.

While it is disheartening to read of such things like this, it does give a clear measure of how deep the damage goes in the needed repairs to our Country. I have little doubt that President Trump is closer to solving these problems than we have been in 30yrs.
