FAKE NEWS, like 10 people are behind this. Don't make it a bigger deal than it actually is.

Who is the person who started this petition anyhow?

It's amazing the shite an anonymous person can start on the internet.

As I understand it, we have a person making a claim against LSU, which is spread all over social media and now, national mainstream media... and we LSU supporters do not have the right to face our accuser?

Seems fair.

This is why I hate what the media has become. And I used to work in news. They will print anything that anyone says. Even their IDENTITY is not a necessity anymore.

It used to be who, what, when, where, why, and how. Now it's who (optional), what (preferably opinion), when (but okay to recycle anything, anytime), when (NOW is always best, regardless of accuracy), why (especially if it's racism or sexism), and how (hopefully it happened via social media, so we don't have to leave the newsroom).

This story is about the media reporting on something that happened in the media (social media), about a phenomenon (SJW/racism) that is fueled by the media, causing a controversy in... the media. Pulitzer prize material here. Splash that shite on the front page of Foxnews.com!

There was only 1 person who initiated the removal of 100 year old statues of art in NOLA. Just saying

When folks rabble about college mascots, it really weakens the argument that blacks have it bad in this country. If we're that far down the list, we must be doing pretty darn good.

Maybe they should ask themselves why they are going to a college that initially was a military school? That in itself is oppressive since only whites were admitted. Why do they want to go to a school founded on aggression and racism?

Not surprised she's a conservative. She and other whites, benefitted from Apartheid. No wonder she wants things to go back to where they were.

What does a tiger have to do with white supremacy?

No, not really, especially if the lineage of the "tiger" mascot is tied in any way, shape or form to the Civil War... At least it is not to these people...

That is the problem with taking down statues, changing mascots, etc when groups express "outrage"... Once you start giving in, it will never stop...

So, we probably need to start coming up with some new nicknames for LSU...

That's absolutely false. The city council voted 6-1 to have them removed. They also voted in 1992 to have them removed, but were held up by David Duke's lawsuits. Also, despite what you see on this board there is actually a pretty strong support for removal of the monuments in New Orleans. That being said, changing LSU's name does not have that support at all.

This is a lie based on my 40 years of experience. There may have been some fringe support, but to claim "strong support" is a joke at best. Also the city council doesn't vote on shite, if Mitch the Bitch doesn't start pandering because of an incedent that happened over 1000 miles away.

You live in "Da Parish" buddy, I actually live in the city. You do realize this town goes Democrat in every election and that it has had a Dem running city government ever since I can remember? It is a liberal city and the white flight crowd that left the city are all of a sudden acting like they care about the city and claiming it as their own. You are wrong the people elected the city council and the mayor, the city council voted to remove them, and the Mayor agreed...that is how democracy works. Grow up and quit crying about statues you never cared about prior to them being removed from a city that you don't even live in.

If you read the article I think it covers some of the history of the mascot name. This whole thing is supremely idiotic!

LSU needs to make an announcement that we've changed the mascot from the Fightin' Tigers to the Bengal Tigers. End of issue, normalcy wins.

Does that mean Grambling has to change their mascot?
