The people who are uptight about this are largely the same people who showed racism all over these boards lately. It doesn't hurt you physically to allow other to show more support and solidarity than there has ever been in this country. Most of the football team is black and you don't know what they have faced and why this may give them another sense of inclusion like never before.
I respect some of the responses here from some level headed people. I can't be upset that you don't support the move, but at least you not being a racist in the process. You just don't like the move and I can understand your point that you don't agree with the actual BLM group.

Did they march or protest when Wayde died? Literally 2 years ago. In Baton Rouge. And an LSU athlete.
Hell i don't even remember any of the LSU athletes having a march or protest on campus when Alton Stirling got protected and served.

You're the guy that claimed that we should support them regardless of our personal beliefs. Did you mean to limit it to this one specific instance?
Regardless, what makes them "right" here?

The fact you’d even try & argue against a fight for equality is cringe, even for you

Sorry I don't buy into BLM's propaganda. I'm all about actual equality, but BLM isn't looking for that

This states exactly how I feel about the matter.
I’m okay with the idea that of course black lives do indeed matter but, affiliating with the BLM movement is very disturbing. I hope this doesn’t become a part of LSU athletics.

Yap, just have your whole Saturday revolve around them entertaining you. Discard. Rinse. Repeat.

No one is forcing them to, and they in fact get benefits from doing it not available to people like me. What a horrible take, even for you.

“ Let’s support BLM so we don’t get called a racist “ yeah I don’t blame em

It’s a movement of murder, violence and property destruction.

They didn’t do any of this shite when Wayde Sims was shot by a black man.
I’m glad you finally learned how to spell his name in this thread, jackass race baiter.

Yeah. I was listening on the radio this afternoon of all the virtue signaling from all the pro sports. And i thought, "well at least i have LSU...until they go down this road". Little did i know, it would only take an hour or so before the pandering started.

You’re shocked that a football team that is 90% black is supporting black lives matter?
What exactly is your issue?
That before you blindly throw support behind a cause with the word "black" in it, you should know what it stands for.
One of their tenants is the elimination of the nuclear family, which ironically, is the #1 cause for disproportionate crime and poverty in the black community (and all communities, in general).

It is highly unlikely that people who hate black people would or could have collegiate sports as their main passion in life. It is much more likely that principled people prefer to distance themselves from ALL OVERTLY RACIST HUMAN BEINGS, even if some of them have received the stamp of approval from their favorite Institution specifically and popular culture generally. Just because people are gripped by moral confusion and collective guilt, doesn't mean we have to be. Most of us will continue to refuse to support the radicalism, vandalism, violence and overt racism of The BLM Movement because our Cultural overlords are demanding it. No matter how many names you call us, or how many slurs you aim at us, a lot of us will refuse to value the humanity of one specific group of people over another.
And of course Black Lives Matter. We were made in God's image. To reject a man as God made him is to reject God. But MORE than that-ALL LIVES MATTER. Every race and creed, the unborn, those with disabilities and those who suffer. EVERYBODY.
If really cynical, morally confused people hate me because I won't say their stupid little slogan on demand or jump through their little hoops without affording me the right to express my views, frick em.
