He's not getting $134K. He tried, but failed, to do this. His retirement will actually be based on his pay as captain, his rank when he went on DROP, plus a proportionally reduced amount, post DROP.

Well that was sooner than we all thought.
JBE dropped him like a hot potato. Guess the feds have a much better case against him than expected. Expect shite to hit the fan with TrooperGate, those illegal contributions and that shady endorsement by the LTSA sooner or later.
And the pathetic thing is that he did all this shite to defeat Vitter only for JBE to fire him a year and a few months later and may still be up shite creek with the feds.

Can you elaborate on how all of this works and what he tried to pull off?

He sneaked a bill through the legislature that would revoke his DROP, but got caught.

The master trooper in this story is a friend of mine who knew nothing of this bill. He was not in favor of the bill because it meant more money going to his psycho ex-wife.
