Today, the Senate passed Senate Bill 1, NRA backed constitutional carry legislation, on a 28-10 vote. The bill will next be considered in the House.

That’s definitely a start but this bill made it to the idots desk last year. If it can make it through the house and get to Landry’s desk he will sign it. It’s like recruiting. If a player is committed to you but has not signed his LOI. It’s just the anticipation that this will finally become law

I am all for gun rights

But I don't think allowing just anyone to carry a gun is a good idea. I don't think a person should be allowed to carry a gun in public without some kind of training.

COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Six of Ohio’s eight largest cities saw less gun crime after the state’s “constitutional carry” law took effect, according to a study published today by the Center for Justice Research, a partnership between the office of Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost and Bowling Green State University.

Beginning June 13, 2022, Ohio became the 23rd state to allow its citizens to carry a concealed weapon without a permit. In the year following, crime involving guns dropped across Ohio’s eight largest cities as a whole and in six of the eight individually.

The criminals, by definition, do not care what the law is. They are already carrying guns and getting away with it.

More good people carrying guns is a good thing.

What do you think about limiting only law abiding citizens carrying? What do you think about being able to defend one's self when approached by someone who actually is carrying a firearm with bad intentions?
What do you think the effect is on criminals vs law abiding gun owners?

Gerald, I have no idea what your politics are...but I can say that your position leans left, and while you claim to have thought it out...liberals stop thinking once they reach the conclusion they desire. In the real world, to solve real problems, you have to keep going.
