The state makes people like me and our business pay these film companies or else they levy taxes against us.

The money could be better spent elsewhere, but it's less than 1% of the state budget.

Silver lining - The film industry has really brought a lot of positive press to LA and its way of life.

If the formula is as simple as writing magical $200M checks, then where would it ever logically end?
