I think it is better safe than sorry at this point. I don't think you should be allowed to sit there and shoot any chemical into the air in a restaurant.

The water vapor takes the crease out of my crisp cotton shirts.

eSmoking in the boy's room.
eSmoking in the boy's room.
Politicians don't ya fill me up with your rules.
Errbody knows that eSmoking ain't allowed in school.

Half the fun of smoking was getting away with it. The young rebels in the past have turned into "The Man."

Maybe Los Angeles should be consistent and ban porn. What if something like that fell into the hands of a child? (Which, BTW, was the actual legal standard in 19th century England so there's some precedent in common law systems).

You can't remove the perfume stench and you can't create a skinny person from a fat person. You can, though, not use ecigs in a restaurant.

You can ban people wearing perfume or fat people from a restaurant, which would be just as absurd as banning the use of an ecig.

When it is all said and done, I have no sympathy for anyone that lives under liberal rule these days when I see something like this.

Be it the President, a Senator, a House Representative, a state senator, a state representative, a mayor and right down to a city council person: All elected.

Banning water vapor cigarettes is stupid but I completely understand it because LA has no other issues to deal with, right?

LA has razor wire around their street signs to try and stop tagging and also has the worst traffic on the planet so obviously it is a Heaven on Earth wherein it's elected officials have ample time to devote to electronic cigarettes.

I hate liberals.

Yes it is, the nicotine is inhaled and absorbed. By the way, you also don't inhale nicotine from 2nd hand smoke either. It's harmless Sammy.

Is that proven to be true? the body would have to absorb all the nicotine completely, and i just don't know if that happens. Obviously if true this is a very different matter.

Any studies you could link me to?

Most studies show there is around 10 times more nicotine in second hand cigarette smoke compared to ecig vapor.

LINK

A person would ingest more nicotine from eating any of several different nicotine containing vegetables than they would from second hand vapor.

I'm pretty sure it's not water vapor. It's either propylene glycol or glycerin or a combo of both. Both of which are harmless. In fact propylene glycol is used as the delivery agent for respiratory drugs. It's also used to make the fog from fog machines.

Methinks you don't know what an e-cigarette does.

1. The suggestion that second hand smoke from real cigarettes is harmless is beyond silly. But then again, I realize I'm reacting to VolsandShaft83 so I should expect as much.

2. No doubt there are traces of bad shite in the e-cigarette, but I have no idea how much or the concentration.

3. I quit smoking pretty easily, but I did try the e-cigarette just for fun and, frankly, I don't see the point. They suck.

4. I'm completely on board with RogertheShrubber. I'd be much happier if they'd ban cell phone use in restaurants.

5. When I lived in L.A., I actually thought there was something sort of charming about the goofball, earnest naivete' of some of the dumbasses on the City Council. But I can see where they could be annoying to some people. I just never did, and don't now, give much of a frick what they do.

Nothing like sitting down to some fine dining just as the patron at the table next to you starts blaring some crap from youtube or some stupid arse song at top volume. I frickin hate that shite. Cell phones make people classless. If I owned a nice place I would jam them in the dining rooms and keep it a secret "I apologize sir, but cell phones do not get reception in our dining room. We have no idea why. If you need to place a call we have a free phone at the bar."
