Lois and Holly Paz say they are willing to testify, but "fear another media firestorm if their version of events from the tea party targeting were to become public."

Also, claimed that previous “graphic, profane and disturbing language” has caused them embarrassment.

quote:

Former IRS senior executive Lois G. Lerner told a federal court this week that she faces the possibility of death threats if her role in the tax agency’s tea party-targeting becomes public, and asked a judge to forever seal her upcoming deposition in a class-action lawsuit brought by hundreds of groups that were targeted.

My heart just breaks for them.

Anybody think she'll really testify truthfully? Can she get out of a deposition by invoking the 5th again?

Not really productive in civil proceedings
quote:

'Failure of a party who is present at the trial to answer questions based on the privilege against self-incrimination, raises a strong inference that the answers would have been unfavorable and damaging to them, and a comment to that effect is proper.’

The Fifth Amendment does not forbid adverse inferences against parties to civil actions, when they refuse to testify in response to probative evidence offered against them. The Amendment ‘does not preclude a negative inference where the privilege is claimed by a party to a civil case.’

Lerner is now saying she is getting anti-semitic hate mail. She's trying really hard to play the "I am just an honest Jewish woman who dindu nuffin" card.

Trump Republicans are hypocrites for impugning Lois Lerner's "secrecy". They should look in the mirror.

America is clamoring for Trump to make his tax returns public. It's reaching critical mass, and this very day there are protests across the nation to try to produce Trump's tax return data.

The slow drip, drip, drip of scandal on Team Trump, from the Manafort payoffs to shady business deals by the Trump organization, is getting tiresome. What really is Trump trying to hide from the voters?

Remember when Lois got locked out of her mansion and or reporters were dogging her so badly that she ran to her neighbors and they wouldn't let her pathetic lying POS arse in?
