Liz Murrill has secured the endorsement of the Louisiana Republican Party to be attorney general over two other Republicans, the party announced Thursday.
Murrill, who is a senior lawyer for Jeff Landry, the current attorney general and the frontrunner in the governor’s race, joins Landry in having the support of the state party.
This support unlocks money for both from national Republican groups.

Also running to replace Landry are state Rep. John Stefanski, R-Crowley, and Marty Maley, a former prosecutor in West Baton Rouge Parish.

How many people is it actually who get to decide these things?
Any Louisiana Republicans here part of this supposed "endorsing committee"?

LA GOP is completely out of touch with the voters.
She's also backed financially by the likes of Richard Lipsey and Gordon McKernan. PASS
ETA: Also Mary Olive Pierson, and Brett Furr. Again, PASS

I’ve heard a lot of good things about her but the real issue is the.. it’s her turn mentality of the LAGOP..
I’d rather the party engage the candidates in forums and debates before throwing the money at certain selected candidates.

I'm actually genuinely curious as to what that is. She hasn't fared very well in the cases that matter (SCOTUS), and I have never been impressed by any of her arguments I've listened to.
It's not enough to be a mouthpiece when you aren't effectively delivering. And, at least in those cases, she can't say it was her staff when she is signing the briefs.

She’s backed by everyone because she’s absurdly competent.
I have seen Liz speak at many events in her capacity as solicitor general. She is an absolutely brilliant attorney and a bull dog litigator. She is the one who deserves the lion’s share of the credit within Landry’s administration for victories against the federal government. I have read several of her amicus briefs that went to SCOTUS.
I’m not concerned by her being supported by people who I don’t like because I have seen her work firsthand and know it to be quality. There couldn’t be a more qualified person for that job in this state. It’s not often I get to say that about an elected office in Louisiana.

One of the best all time threads in OT history relates to the guy who filed a suit against Liz alleging she “sexually harassed him” while he was a student at LSU Law Center. Circa 2008 ish ?

Rep. John Stefanski, R-Crowley this guy is terrific. Called me up on my cell out of the blue and asked for my vote. He spent an hour with me and really laid out a game plan for what he wants implemented at the AGs office. I never met him prior but just a really down to earth and personable gentleman.

Is she the one who told Biden to pound sand when he tried to stop the oil and gas leases in the Gulf?
