The Zimmerman Telegram by Barbara Tuchman.
Basically, anything by Barbara (((Tuchman))) is great. The Bible & Sword is another one of her great works, but The Zimmerman Telegram foresees what has is currently taking place along the US border and American Southwest based on events leading up to WWI.

Yeah, but she is not what one would expect based on origins and identity. She won the Pulitzer Prize and is an all-time best seller.
