This surely has a LOT to do with it. Location (and race) might as well, but I know a guy that got busted with 20 lbs in 2013 and he's expected to get out later this year or early 2018. It was his first offense.

20 lbs of plants and dirt, maybe 6 oz of bud.

So you agree with me that selling weed is not automatically a victimless crime?

Sure man. The poor buyer smokes it and it's gone.

What a ripoff

And the innocent children of the weed buyer don't have food to eat because the poor buyer smoked the money that was supposed to be used to buy their food.

You could say the same for weed.

Money management issue. If it wasn't weed it would be something else

All dealers should go to prison.

They:
1. Make communities unsafe
2. Hook kids and perpetuate junkies
3. Don't pay taxes on their income
4. Are generally shitheads

You think dealers who pollute communities should walk or did I merely assume so?

You watch too many movies.

If I got arrested multiple times for trafficking twinkies, and was facing significant jail time if I got caught doing it again, then I'd be a moron to keep doing that. Makes no difference.

ETA: Just because I think weed should be legal doesn't mean I sympathize with stupid behavior.

Deflection.

When it is weed then the drug buyer's children are innocent victims.

After all, drug dealers never refuse to sell weed to someone because they know the buyer won't have money to feed his children.

Leave it. He's trolling now. Buying, selling, and using drugs are victimless crimes.

I'll give this a try. I'm for legalization of weed btw.

One example would be selling to a minor, but that wouldn't be legal under recreational laws anyway.

It's not very hard.

It is illegal, don't do it unless you are willing to do the time if you get caught.

Does anybody refuse? I'm pretty sure I could blow my entire paycheck at Best Buy and they wouldn't give a frick about my kids.

I didn't say or imply the buyer was using his entire paycheck to buy the weed.

I said the buyer used all the money he had at the time which he was supposed to buy food for his children with.

And the children of the buyer don't get to choose who their parents are.

You can experience it for a "rolling-stop" through a stop sign or speeding 2 mph over the speed limit. Hope you have a dashcam. Because you may not even break the law, they'll just say that you were.
takes more than that, and you know it.

Even if it didn't it wouldn't be the first time we've fought a country in court and won.

Would your kids benefit from whatever it is that you buy from Best Buy?

You can deflect all you like but the children of a weed buyer who spends money on weed instead of spending it on something that benefits his children are innocent victims of the transaction.

Now if a single man with no children or other dependants buys weed with the money that he was supposed to pay his rent with then that's a whole different story.

I'm not deflecting anything.
