Conservative? Nope. Note even constitutional

And the welfare state that brings them here to begin with? Do you think the Republicans currently in congress would vote to end it? I can think of maybe two: Rand Paul and Thomas Massie.

Would libertarians? Last one I heard talking about peeling back the welfare state was Ron Paul. Reason and Cato are too busy switching between "But Trump!" and running cover for Biden to address the welfare state.

Ahhh, utopia. The refuge of libertarians everywhere. Yes, ending the welfare state, especially for criminal illegals, is a wonderful, encouraging pipe dream. How many liberals, both democrat and republican are you willing to kill to get it done?

Then libertarians should run as republicans and win. They’d have a better shot at winning anyways and would help transform the party

It’s a 2 party system. Libertarians will never win anything significant as a 3rd party

I don't think people fully grasp how much the demographics of Georgia have changed and just how many locusts have fled their shitty blue states to move to Georgia and vote blue.

Especially if they keep running has been Republican governors as interference to allow Dems to win.

They can't be authoritarians if libertarians keep costing them elections....they just lose to Democrat authoritarians.
Republicans never learn that lesson. They lose the election, and conclude "need to be mroe like democrats to attract muh moderates".

And what happened to him in 2008 and 2012? Scoffed at and ignored by the party most of the posters here think is a bastion of conservatism. I bet Troy voted for both Bush's, McCain and Romney, yet calls himself a staunch conservative and fancies himself a border hawk. The Republican Party has been controlled by neocons since the 1980's. That crowd has less use for a border wall than the Libertarian Party. Prior to Trump, the last border hawk that ran for President was Ross Perot.

I don't know many that believe that. The rejection of Ron led to Trump. The rejection of Trump is leading us further toward individual rights and a non aggression policy. But definitely we should vote for the guys writing letters tellng conservatives to pound sand during an election and bake the Nazi cake because I said so.

I volunteered for his campaigns in 2008 and 2012. Fox banned him from a debate in 2008 and then you have this in 2012.

As opposed to whom, and what good would it have done? I bet you DIDN'T vote for both Bush's, McCain and Romney. What did it get you? 8 years of Clinton, 8 years of W, and 8 years of Obama, same as me. Granted, that's 24 years of marxist democrat agenda, but don't you join me in thanking God that Algore wasn't president for 9/11?

I don’t disagree with the objective, but they need to be running as Republicans during the primary.

Trump destroyed you people. Trumpites and progressives are two sides of the same coin.

This can't be stated enough. Over the last 40 years, Republicans and Democrats have moved us towards bigger, more intrusive gov't and further away from fiscal responsibility. I find it funny/sad that 'conservative' Republicans want to bash Libertarians and/or Constitutionalist for voting for true conservative candidates instead of these BS liberal Republicans like McCain, Romney, Trump, Crenshaw, McConnell, etc, etc, etc, etc.

The Republican Party is killing this country. They've given us the two most draconian measures the Federal Gov't have ever enacted: The Patriot Act and the COVID lockdowns. Let's not even get started on the Bush bailout or the Trump bailout......

Well then you are doing the right thing in helping marxist democrats into power, right? Right?

He's not.

Dems fund these candidates for just this reason.

If that's the goal, you are failing mightily. If anything, Republicans have moved more authoritarian because they can't be perfect enough to get the "at least I didn't vote for him" de facto Democrat votes.

...what have Libertarians gotten accomplished other than Democrat victories?

ETA: Had to change from small "l" to big "L," because these people are libertarians in party affiliation only. They are an insult to actual libertarians.

What have republicans done other than lose the votes of people who truly believe in small government, liberties, and dragging the country into a 20 year war? Maybe R’s and D’s who truly believe in small government and the liberties outlined in the bill of rights should grow some balls and move to the party that better represents their principles?

Especually one that berated.them in an election year and tells them their votes aren't needed.
