That's actually the perfect response to them. When they quote a bible verse, respond to them with an anti-homosexual bible verse.

Therefor I can't read your pop up book that is straight up telling me that you're being a dick to the needy? I don't have to be religious to see you're being a hypocrite.

Like your preening without action. It's not just a you problem. Most of you liberals preen and virtue signal without action. Stamping of feet and pecking away on a keyboard are heroic actions to most of you.

To be fair, Jesus was very pro "treat others with kindness"; it was Paul, not Jesus, who went around screaming "no homo" in the New Testament.

Well he did mention people quoting the old testament which should have little care to a Christian. But you are correct, Jesus' Christianity doesn't really exist. Just Paulinite and Gnostic based versions. Jesus was seemingly closer to Buddha than an Abrahamic religion.

"I have nothing but contempt for your backwards religious beliefs"

Can you not see that I think most liberals would say the teachings of Jesus are awesome and are a fantastic way to live your life? Jesus was an amazing man and taught plenty of valuable lessons and I hold christianity well above most other religions. Your straw man here is that you think liberals hate christianity, thats not true. Liberals hate when "christians" claim to be that, and then turn around and do oddly homophobic and nasty things to people all while clinging to the Bible.

What loving comments from the left.

Not everyone in the world can live in America. Once you bring in enough 3rd world folks you realize you are now living in the 3rd world yourself.

If America falls Russia or China will end up ruling the world, and how do you think that will end?

Trump has turned liberals into America-loving, Bible-believing patriots.

I love it

Am I supposed to be some bleeding heart liberal? I'm your bridge into what these people see. I may seem liberal here but I assure you we agree on way more than you would be willing to see.

Stop with the stupid. I treat everyone (including homosexuals) with kindness, but let's not act like biblically it isn't a sin.

A lot of things are a sin according to the Bible.

Jesus held much stronger convictions against divorce than he did against homosexuality. To Jesus, being divorced meant you are living in constant sin (because there was only one justification for divorce, and if you did not have that, it meant both parties were now adulterers).

If a person is against gay marriage because of their religious beliefs, then it stands to reason they should be against divorce as well (except in the rare, allowable exception outlined by Jesus). There are two justifications in the New Testament for divorce, and only one of which is referenced by Jesus (sexual immorality - basically, cheating). 1st Corinthians tacked on abandonment by an unbeliever. Even those still strongly encourage reconciliation and forgiveness, as God LITERALLY says in Malachi "I hate divorce."

You really have no idea what you are talking about, do you? How does the Old Testament not have anything to do with a Christian?

According to the Christian faith, Jesus was the realization of the prophesies of the Old Testament, meaning they were no longer bound by the old law. Passages within the Old Testament, in theory, are to be treated more as a history lesson than a guide of how to act.

Jesus is the ultimate authority on how one should treat others. A standard that a everyone falls short of, but a standard a lot of people claiming to be Christian do little more than give lip service to.

My church does everything it can to help avoid divorce. Counseling and prayer are pretty much the only tools you have by the time it's addressed at church. Most of us are indeed against divorce but realize that free will causes people to do things that are not preferrable and ultimately lead to divorce regardless of the help offered. Jesus would not want a married woman to stay married to an abusive alcoholic forever.

I don't think liberals would love Jesus saying, "go, and sin no more". Liberals only believe in hedonism. If you don't 100% agree with every belief and action of other people then that is considered "hate" to liberals.
