Depends on what it is. You are always entitled to your own belief about what is OK and what is not.
Entitled to my belief, however, who cares if the other 51% says it doesn't matter. Suppose 51% vote that we can only live in a certain square footage home. If it's over that, I must rent out a room at a price the gov't sets? Seems fair, right? After all, 51% says this is fair...

Yes, I want to pay my share that nobody in this country goes hungry, without clothes, or without healthcare... no matter how undeserving you might think to be.
So your proposal for further income redistribution serves only to increase dependency. You apparently believe the use of programs to encourage dependency is a good thing.

You don't think it's fair, I don't think it's fair, but then so it shall be.

Ok, but what about the guy doesn't want to have his money confiscated? You favor forced confiscation?
Yes, of course. It's called "taxation".

51% votes that you are allowed $25k a year income, anything beyond that must be given to the gov't
51% votes you are allowed to have 2 children per family
51% votes you are allowed a 1500 sq. ft. home
51% votes you are not allowed to eat meat
51% votes alcohol must be confiscated
So shall it be?

If your constitutional rights are not violated, so shall it be. Is this really news to you?

Liberals in general think that things can be made better than they are today.
First, "better" is highly subjective but I do not think the term distinguishes liberals from anyone else since I'm pretty sure everyone wants a better life/world in which to live in. What distinguishes liberals from conservatives lies in the how better is to be accomplished.
Your statement reveals more than you might have realized/meant with the "can be made" part. Liberals are all about making things the way they want them through social engineering/control. Conservatives on the other hand tend to believe in individual freedom and self-reliance/self-determination in a free market environment. Liberals pretty much favor socialism and see the federal government/government control as the solution to most issues whereas true conservatives favor less centralized government control and more local decision making in a capitalistic/free market economy.

So you've abandoned the idea of a Republic and balance of power. For you, it's just a democratic process. Majority rules, regardless of how it impacts anyone! Especially if you are in the 51%. I question why you don't move to Venezuela where toilet paper is rationed. Life is wonderful there.

I respect your opinion even though I absolutely disagree with it. At least you aren't trying argue that our entitlement programs help reduce poverty or improve lives in a macro sense. I have a much easier time swallowing your stance than the "we're helping people" position.

The Constitution wasn't meant to list all the things to which you're entitled... not that it's relevant to this thread, anyway.

???
We ARE helping people by guaranteeing them something to eat.

The core of my beliefs is that once a person is born into this country he is entitled to a decent, basic standard of living that this country is perfectly capable of providing.
And that is the problem right there. It is not this countries job or the taxpayers job to provide you with a decent standard of living. That is YOUR job! The country simply provides the enviornment for you to take actions to provide yourself with whatever standard of living you would like to WORK towards.

what part of the constitution allows for corporate welfare?
why don't repubs rally around ending corporate welfare the same way they do for ending welfare for the less fortunate?

it's called being part of a SOCIETY. it's a standard that every other industrialized nation in the world follows

And you would be pissed as hell if the gov gave whomever wanted it...a prison meal, orange jumpsuits to wear and basic medical health care like in prisons. That is probably more than just basic but you would not be happy with that.
