I haven't changed my position one iota:
Probably, but scale, scope, funding, and regulation (specifically, SSDI) are what's in question for me, not existence
I think that's ideologically-neutral. I would think conservatives generally believe there is an ideal level for tax generation, but it varies based on conditions.
Don't particularly care either way as long as it's funded.
Didn't even realize this was an issue
Hell no
Strong no. Republicanism (small r) demands a certain ethos of the elites ruling for the betterment of everyone. I agree with that to an extent.
Not even sure what this is saying
I am not too big on the education issue, but I don't see that big of a problem with this.
No. Absolutely not. Often times, vociferously no. The strategic incentives for non-profits are no different, and thus, I place them at an ethical level equivalent to most companies.
I see no problem with this. External military (and the National Guard with the way it has been used post-WW2) forces are another question, but being able to match domestic policing? I think it is ideologically sound to support that.

frick the following two ideas.
You want a higher wage, then you should have gotten an education or picked a different career. Unions and minimum wage advocates are the reason so many jobs have left the US.
As far as firearms are concerned, we should definitely have access to the same type of weapons our police departments and military use. The right to bear arms was written in order to keep our government honest of intrusion and overreach.
As far as "technological" weapons, we need to take some of them away from police departments. I completely support the right for police departments to use new weapons that fight crime as long as they make sense. Body cameras and tasers make sense. Traffic enforcement cameras and cellphone stingrays don't.

I only like one of those but in an economic sense the minimum wage should reflect the real inflation rate of the country
The minimum wage should be what an employer is willing to pay to fill a position.
