These stories are all about portraying that something has occurred with the Russians, but there is nothing of substance in the article....just that sources say Sessions met with the Russian ambassador.
It is not like there are photos of him handing over a briefcase of cash or envelope full of secrets. While much will be made of it, odds are greater that there is nothing to it.

At a minimum, it's strange that he did but that nobody else on his committee did. To me it's also strange that the Russian ambassador was at the Republican convention given the issue of the Team Trump lobbying to change the RNC platform on the Russia invasion of the Ukraine at the convention.
Finally and given that Sessions is the one who recommended Carter Page to the Trump campaign, this whole thing is shady.

Sessions pretty much confirmed it when he commented yesterday. He is now backtracking from his original statement that he did not have any contact during the campaign.
Under oath he stated he did not have any contact during the campaign. Now that he is busted he is saying that he did not discuss issues of the campaign

I did watch the video of the exchange. He stated he was sometimes called a surrogate and he did not have any contact during the campaign
