Let's Discuss the Democrat Party Conundrum Regarding White Male Voters

Looking at the 2016 election, I think it was plain to see that one of the primary reasons why Hillary Clinton lost is because the infamous "blue wall" of various states in the upper Midwest fell in favor of Trump. Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa. Even deep-blue Minnesota casually flirted with the idea of turning red.
Why did this happen? Well, it happened because blue-collar workers, mostly white males, decided to abandon the Democrat Party in droves. Now, how much of that was due to the specific candidates (Trump/Clinton), as opposed to a generic shift from Dem to GOP, is debatable. But, the fact remains that the Democrats lost the 2016 Presidential election because of the shifting tide in those states.
Here's my primary question, which is actually two-fold; (1) What is the best strategy available to Dems to win back the blue-collar white male vote, especially in the states I've mentioned, and 2) How passionately can the Dems implement any such strategy without alienating their liberal, female & minority base? Groups which seem to be growing more anti-white male by the day. Seems Like a very fine line to walk, if you ask me ( Keith Ellison and Maxine Waters as the faces of the party?).
I'll hang up and read.

The Dims aren't going to alienate their hardcore liberal and minority bases. They'll ramp up turnout and hope that moderates will stay home. The trick for the Dims will be holding onto enough Latino voters while not running a Latino for President. Latinos are already thinking it's now their turn.

I have no idea how they are going to do it. They are fueled by the very cancers that are eating them alive; Identity Politics and Political Correctness.
People are finally, FINALLY getting fed up w/ both tactics and turning their backs on them.
Seems to me the only way they can win back majorities nationwide is by the Republicans fricking up "bigly", which they are no doubt capable of doing.

The democrats are creating the reverse of the the so called GOP southern strategy. Their candidates will soon be expected to white bash, except not in code words as they accused republicans of doing. Democratic candidates must now actively bash whites if they are to be accepted by the progressive wing.

I don't see how any white male could vote for a Democrat right now unless he hates himself or is fricking some lena Dunham type that tells him what to do. Hopefully the Democrats will get back on track in the next few years but as of right now they are radicalized as frick. They're not really Democrats right now

Reagan got the blue collar Midwestern voters. But the GOP could not keep them.
I've been hoping most of my adult life for The Great Trade -- the Dems can have the Northeast libertine country clubbers like Romney if the GOP gets the Midwest. If the GOP emphasizes cultural issues maybe this time they can keep the heartland.

The GOP does not need to go backwards to bible beating. It needs to be the party of realists versus the Khmer Rouge progressive fundamentalists.

I recall the left pointing out that demographics would preclude a republican president for the foreseeable future. What they didn't count on was that constant pandering to minorities and extremists would cut their legs out from under them. Another factor is that over time, as Hispanics gained in wealth they would naturally reduce family size and would gradually shift to republican at a rate significant enough to offset a shift in demographics.

Hold pat and let Trump treat labor the way he has always treated labor...and they will be right back in the fold....

This past election season was like no other in history because whether we care to admit it or not we are all being manipulated in one form or other. Economically, politically, culturally and monetarily via globalization of the United States economy and unchecked immigration that is changing the very fabric and underpinnings of our society. Political labels increasingly do not matter. As a result of all these changes the political mood of the country has slowly shifted to the left. This has come with unintended consequences. There was wide spread disaffection in both main political parties. The Republican electorate overwhelming rejected what were perceived establishment candidates. Even the Democrats in what we all know was a stacked deck against any insurgent candidate saw the rise of insurgent candidate Bernie Sanders. Mrs. Clinton's challenge was managing the damaged reality inflicted by the policies she had pledged to continue. Simply stated, the Obama-Clinton economic policies had failed and we the people regardless of political affiliation down deep know this.
When over 70% of the country feel we as a country are on the wrong track you know things are bad.
We have a significant proportion of a population who chooses not to express their views, often because of outright apathy or because they do not believe their views matter. This silent majority expressed their dissatisfaction this electoral cycle.
As a result, the Republican party stands at a crossroad. The establishment Republicans don't want change, at least not the kind they always talk about. They want status quo regardless of their rhetoric.
Under Trump, the Republican party is going to be remade and it is already in the process of doing so. Establishment Republicans are fighting more against the insurgent Trump than Democrats.
This is because they are more aligned with their views.
As the country has shifted more to the left the new reality that is emerging is right-wing conservatives (Tea Party types)are slowing being marginalized.
Centrist democrats are being pushed out of their party and moving into the Republican party. I believe Trump's political views lie somewhere here.
I believe Donald Trump (like him or not)is committed to affecting the change he campaigned on.
Voters want change. We are not far removed from the silent majority sticking their middle finger at the ruling class and corporate media that dominates American politics.
After all, Massachusetts (the bluest of the blue states) elected Scott Brown to keep Democrats from having control of the Senate. That was a wave election. This is the continuation. White centrist democrats are going to keep voting for Trump. Democrat identity politics have destroyed their own loyal voter base. The white voter base will be silent no longer. How could they be when these voters are called bigots, racists, homophobes, islamophobes and misogynistic by their former party all because they are white?
Democrats are going to continue their very left of center views and jobs are not their priority. Those disaffected centrist democrats and union voters no longer have a home in the democrat party.

the only way to hold the midwest blue collar vote is to expand government intervention into the affairs of capital so far that they have no choice but to open up manufacturing plants in the rust belt again...ain't gonna happen because it ain't possible....blue collar middle west voters and coal miners alike are fricked by technology and 37 years of trickel down economics that kept them from keeping pace with the technology that is now making them irrelevant.
The only thing that ever kept blue collar white men's heads up was that they weren't black or brown....now that shite doesn't matter at all (it never did except to keep labor at one another's throat while capital planned their demise). Blue collar white males are now commiting suicide at never before heard of rates, they don't have families, they are addicted to drugs and they are scared and confused because they are no longer relevant because their gods in the capital class no longer needs them...

Democrats can't win them back without betraying all the victim groups that they have been courting for years. The only way they get the white males is if the GOP drives them away, which is always possible.
