They're banking on people not knowing that. If the premise had been correct, I would have liked the commercial.

No thanks...

When he was talking about what "Detroit has" my comment was "overpriced labor"

I had a similar reaction, except unions killing companies.

Yep. Detroit auto makers totally suck.

Except that they don't, at all.

Does that have anything to do with the quality of the cars they produce?

I would say no for me personally, because mine (gmc truck) has been good to me, but I see more lemons than I use to. You can't overlook the fact at what unions have done to the big 3 though, and that trickle down to Detroit itself. I think that the overall quality of Detroit vehicles has gone down the past 15-20 years. I also think unions can be blamed for part of that. Let's bite that hand that feeds us.

America built my Nissan. All the big foreign auto companies have plants in the US.

Your Nissan as well as Toyotas aren't built by union employees. Meaning that if one of those guys frick up, they will be fired quicker than shite. The GM guys can say frick it, it's Friday and I don't feel like doing shite and I refuse to put this part on, and if you don't like it call my committeeman. Committee man is called and said employee is suspended only to be brough back 3 days latter and paid for her "Inconvience". True story. frick the UAW and everything they stand for. Few hard workers there and the are/were some but just like society, the hard workers/responsible ones are over shadowed by the ones who can beat the system

True. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Fiat.

That's almost certainly a good thing for Chrysler.

Everything they've done in the last 15-20 years has been less than impressive when compared to competitive models.

Fiat has spent a ton of money on improving interior quality and drive. I just hope Fiat and Alfa dealerships start to bloom here as a result.

Chrysler - great designs with horrible build quality. Seems like they always trip at the finish line when it comes to quality
