How many other nations in the country promote a welfare system and doesn't encourage education and strong family life? The problem with the U.S. is simple, IMO. The root of all of our problems is the liberal agenda that everyone deserves the same as the next person. This country was not founded on dependence of the government nor was it meant to have a prison system that neither rehabilitates nor punishes those that commit crimes.

Min wage does little to lift people out of poverty.
Economic growth does. Relevant education and vocational training does.
Forget useless majors like African American and womens studies, We need science, engineering and medical studies.
Get people into vocational training like welding, electricans, mechanics, constrution...
Min wage is a ruse by the left to get the lemmings & serfs to put them in power.
The left hates success and self reliance, its makes them useless.
The left needs misery and agony.

Ask those workers who support an increase in the minimum wage if they are willing to pay more for their fast food, wal-mart products, groceries etc and see what they say.
It just leads to inflation, but minimum wage workers and your avg libs don't really comprehend economics very well.

Perez was one of those lawyers that sued everybody. Frivolous lawsuits. Political/Socialist lawsuits. I used to be in mgt. for a national company and we always worried about a baseless phony lawsuit from him. He might even be a Communist deep down, really. He was friends and associated with Obama's Valarie Jarrett's uncle who was chairman of the Am. Communist Party out of Chicago.

If any administration wants to truly help the underclasses achieve upward mobility, they will have to learn how to incentivize businesses to "spread the wealth around", not penalize them for not doing it. If you try to penalize a business for not putting more money into pay at the lower end, they will simply find ways around the penalty. Making it benefit them is the key.
Raising the minimum wage is nothing but a placebo. Everyone will feel great about it, but in the long run it will do nothing as prices will creep up to match the new wage.
That he's basing his philosophy off of people making minimum wanting raises is ridiculous. Professional sports leagues have salary caps because EVERYONE wants a fricking raise if you ask them, whether they make $7.50 an hour or $7,500 an hour.
