I'm basically voting "No" on all of them...

Convince me on a particular one I should vote "yes".

Frankly the dedicated tax money just means when the budget is tight or irresponsible nothing gets cut but only education which not to say it can't be more efficient but why protect all the other inefficient departments... retarded.

Why do we never get the amendment that tax millage votes CANNOT be held on some random Sat. in June when everyone is on vacation or not paying attention?

I vote yes for the ones that let Orleans deal with foreclosed or blighted property.

If I could have pooled my votes to vote 15 times against getting rid of the age cap for judges, I would have.

1. Do you support an amendment to authorize the legislature to create the Louisiana Medical Assistance Trust Fund, for the payment of Medicaid
reimbursement to the health care provider groups paying fees into the fund?

2. Do you support an amendment to create the Hospital Stabilization Fund to stabilize and protect Medicaid reimbursements for health care services by depositing assessments paid by hospitals, as authorized by the legislature, into a fund to support Louisiana hospital reimbursement?

3. Do you support an amendment allowing an authorized agent of a tax collector to assist in the tax sale process, including the sale of property for delinquent taxes and that the fee charged by the authorized agent be included within the costs that the collector can recover in the tax sale?

4. Do you support an amendment to authorize the investment of public funds to capitalize a state infrastructure bank and the loan, pledge, guarantee, or donation of public funds by a state infrastructure bank for eligible transportation projects?

5. Do you support an amendment to remove the constitutional requirement that a judge retire upon attaining the age of seventy or, if his seventieth birthday occurs during his term, that he retire upon completion of that term?

6. Do you support an amendment to authorize the governing authority of Orleans Parish to increase the annual millage rate levied for fire and police protection, to require that the revenue from the fire and police millages be used for fire and police protection service enhancements, and to require that any increase be approved by the voters of Orleans Parish?

7. Do you support an amendment to provide that the homesteads of veterans with a service-connected disability rating of one hundred percent unemployability or totally disabled by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and their
surviving spouses, shall be exempt from ad valorem taxation for up to one hundred fifty thousand dollars, and that a parishwide vote shall not be required to implement this change in qualification for the exemption?

8. Do you support an amendment to establish the Artificial Reef Development Fund in the state treasury by depositing in to the fund monies that have been received by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries in the form of grants, donations, or other assistance to provide funding for programs dedicated to managing an artificial reef system, the wild seafood certification program, and inshore fisheries habitat enhancement projects?

9. Do you support an amendment to exclude owners who are permanently totally disabled from the requirement that they annually certify to the assessor the amount of their adjusted gross income in order to receive the Special Assessment Level on their residences for property tax purposes?

10. Do you support an amendment providing for an eighteen-month redemption period in any parish other than Orleans, for vacant property sold at tax sale which is blighted or abandoned?

11. Do you support an amendment to change the maximum number of departments in the executive branch of state government from twenty to twenty one?

12. Do you support an amendment to require that two members of the Wildlife and Fisheries Commission be electors from parishes located north of the
parishes of Beauregard, Allen, Evangeline, Avoyelles, and Pointe Coupee?

13. Do you support an amendment to authorize the governing authority of the city of New Orleans to sell at a price fixed by the legislature property located in the Lower Ninth Ward of the city of New Orleans?

14. Do you support an amendment to provide that legislation relative to tax rebates, tax incentives, and tax abatements may not be introduced or considered by the legislature in a regular session held in an even-numbered year?

I'm voting no on all except #10 which shortens the redemption period for tax delinquent real estate from 3 years to 18 months. I'm voting yes on #10.

If someone wants to buy abandoned property at a tax sale, the previous owner has 3 years to pay the back taxes and re-claim the property. That means new owners who purchase the property from a tax sale can't really do anything to clean the property up until the 3 years have passed or they risk having someone else come in and take over their improvements without paying for it.

The 18 months wait time is plenty for a property owner to show up and pay the back taxes and it allows the new owner to start cleaning up/tearing down the old structure sooner, thus cleaning up neighborhoods.

New Orleans has had the 18 month wait since Katrina and it has worked well for them without any adverse impact on tax delinquent owners, IMO. That's why amendment #10 mentions New Orleans because it already has the shortened wait time of 18 months.

I don't support 1 or 2 because they would make our budget problem worse.
I support 3
I support 4
I support 5
I support 6 only because I don't think that a parish needs to handcuffed by the state.
I support 7
I don't support 8 after reading it in more simple terms.
I support 12
and the rest IDK

I'm early voting tomorrow. I'm not changing my address for living away from home at school, I can go home this weekend so I can vote.

But I haven't looked into this thanks for the help.

IMO, #3 opens the door for politically connected do-nothings to get all the delinquent tax collection business from their buddy who they contributed to in the last election and get rich off of doing what the assessor was elected to do.

I'm voting no on that one.

State has been building parts of a reef without this amendment. Why do we need one? I am against government for the sake of government.

Also, i foresee a lot of mismanagement of funds if this is set up. Akin to Nungesser and his pet projects.

I pretty much vote NO for any amendment that handcuffs the legislature and governor from having discretionary spending. It's one of the reasons why every time there is a tight budget higher education and health care spending are almost the only areas that can be cut.

I don't see any reason why artificial reefs should have constitutional dedicated spending protection when LSU does not.

because I opposed to the principle of constitutionally protecting spending. The legislature needs to flexibility to cut across the board if it needs to. Higher education and healthcare can only be cut so much.

I do as well we need to free up government spending not constrict it.

Might want to vote Yes on this one. It's kinda weird that legislation on tax rebates, incentives and abatements CANNOT be considered in fiscal sessions and can only be considered in general sessions. That's sorta messed up.

mean legislators could continue to introduce legislation related to tax rebates, tax incentives or tax abatements in general sessions.

makes more sense to vote no not yes. Don't know why would should limit when we discuss these things.
