I guess it may have a little - don’t believe your lying eyes about how bad I suck thrown in. . . But otherwise, that appears to be it to me.
There are more ppl that passionately love Trump, than those who passionately hate him.
Combine the passionate Trump fans with ppl who think the entire state of affairs in this country sucks, and Trump wins easily.

It's worked. The only major inroads the GOP has made above expectation was when candidates like Youngkin told Trump to stay the frick away from their election.
2016 happened and then a solid portion of moderates in key purple areas and suburbs said "never again" and Trumpism has lost in those areas since.

trump won easily the last time, when the country and our bank/401 accounts were all in great shape
then when they realized they were about to lose, they instigated the steal
