It’s settled that currently, there is no federal statute making abortion illegal nationwide.
And there won't be.
The GOP needs to stay the hell away from the issue at the federal level.

quote:It's pretty obvious in the context of abortion that I meant what they can/cant do to their body. We're not talking about robbing banks and stealing cars.
So it's not o.k. for a politician to decide that a woman can't rob a bank? Or rape someone else with a broom handle? Or steal? Or drive drunk?
Politicians decide what women (and men) can and cannot do all the time.
And I'm not perpetuating a talking point. Its how they feel, and even if they have no intention of ever having an abortion themselves, they will vote against it based on principal alone.

They shouldn't talk about abortion at all in this debate if they're serious about winning elections
I agree wholeheartedly. The courts have ruled and that’s the end of it on a national front.

We all remember what happened in the 2022 midterms when Lindsey Graham rolled out his proposal for a nationwide abortion law right before the vote.

what is there to talk about on abortion?
SCOTUS put it in the states hands. It is the states job now to decide what to do.
GOP doesn't need to be distracted by questions about whether they would support a ban if congress passed it.
That isn't going to happen in Congress.

Where did you see this banner? Because only the left wants to make it about killing babies.

Abortion is the least of America's trouble!! This is why I hate Republicans- they never want to tackle the big issues such as illegal immigration, oil & gas production, crime, leveling charges at Biden and Dems, etc.

They’ll cherry pick some Trump video and paint him in the most intolerant light.
You know, I can think of at least one way Trump can avoid that.

Proof GOP are trying to throw the election. Because they are that scared of Trump.

Stupid fox moderators could control that by not asking the questions.
It's a major hot-button issue. The media can't just avoid it. They need to ask the question and see who has the right answer.

Do expect anything less from idiots?

But you know the talking heads will bring it up and make it a focused point. Just to rile the purple/green hairs.
I agree that the debate is settled but Fox is gonna Fox.
