The white cloth on the coffin is a fitting touch.

Byrd even had a white robe draped around his coffin. And it looks like there are two guys in white hats there, too.

Disgusting, nasty people.

I don't know anything about Robert Byrd. Did he remain a KKK grand wizard all his days?

Hitting it with his shoes would be more befitting.

since when does that matter? you drop the "n" word once as a kid on camera and you might as well forget any political aspirations the rest of your life.

...unless you're a democrat and then no one cares.

The possibility of redemption has been a human virtue since the start of time.

I'm guessing you don't know the backstory of Jefferson Davis late in his life.

He was never grand wizard, but he did start a Klan chapter in the early 40's. By the end of his career he was in-line with the NAACP.

quote:

For the 2003–2004 session, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)[64] rated Byrd's voting record as being 100% in line with the N.A.A.C.P.'s position on the thirty-three Senate bills they evaluated. Sixteen other senators received that rating. In June 2005, Byrd proposed an additional $10,000,000 in federal funding for the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial in Washington, D.C., remarking that, "With the passage of time, we have come to learn that his Dream was the American Dream, and few ever expressed it more eloquently."[65] Upon news of his death, the NAACP released a statement praising Byrd, saying that he "became a champion for civil rights and liberties" and "came to consistently support the NAACP civil rights agenda".

Please link any an all instances of Robert Byrd promoting or supporting racist issues after he denounced the KKK and stated that joining it was the worst mistake he ever made.

People change. Some people judge other by what the promote and espouse today, not what they did 50 years ago.

And if you try to argue an issue using Whataboutism you've already lost.
