Another form of leftist attack on a Trump lawyer. Banks do this without any recourse, explanation or judicious appeal. Local community banks or credit unions are safer havens from this kind of crap.

John Eastman, once an attorney for former President Donald Trump, was de-banked twice in the span of several months by two prominent financial institutions, Bank of America and USAA, he told the Daily Caller. His accounts were closed as he faced substantial backlash for his work advising Trump around the time of the 2020 election.
Eastman said he had switched most of his banking from Bank of America to USAA, a company that provides financial services exclusively to military veterans as well as their families, due to the former’s “wokeness.” Both corporations are federally insured, and Bank of America was bailed out with billions of dollars in taxpayer funds during the global financial crisis.
Bank of America alerted Eastman in September of 2023 that it would be closing his accounts, a letter obtained by the Daily Caller shows. Shortly thereafter, USAA notified Eastman in November that his two bank accounts with the company would be closed, a separate letter shows.

It should be illegal for a bank with assets over a certain threshold to close an account for any reason other than default.

Just wait until the smaller banks are overexposed to certain asset classes, those markets are intentionally destabilized, and the big banks who are flush with cash swoop in to buy them, consolidating banking into a small monopoly and limiting your options, thus giving them even more control.

SOP is that the banks say they are closing the accounts but refuse to say why.
Past precedent has shown that the administration has threatened banks if they don’t shut down accounts tied to disfavored industries such as legally selling weapons.
If the banks want to be transparent with WHY they are shutting down accounts, there is less issue.

He didn't overdraw or fail to pay a loan.
If BoA wanted to refuse service to black people I don't think they would find much sympathy among small government conservatives.
I also find it interesting that BoA has no problem taking corporate welfare that was confiscated from the paychecks of conservatives.

Seriously, douchey move by the banks, but do we really want the federal government dictating yet ANOTHER area in which a business will be REQUIRED to interact with the public?
It seems to me that small government advocates would want to see us ROLLING BACK those sorts of mandates.

Businesses should have to treat people equally. Would the media , government and democrats be ok if most Trade businesses stop offering service to them when they have conservative who need service? We all know if this was a democrat things would be different.

Just wait until there is no more paper or metal money and everything is electronic. The govt, with a couple keystrokes will completely exclude you from selling or purchasing anything.

It's actually yet another perfect example of their true nature. They don't give af about adherence to universal principles on anything. They are not good faith actors. The sooner we understand and come to terms with the reality of the current age nature of the American political left, the better we will be able to formulate a capable opposition to them and we can stop the mass delusion we have regarding what we are up against.
