These public figures need to realize that we don't care about their political opinions, just sing the song, shot the basket, or do what we paid to see you do. or don't, and we won't.

Sounds more like the sheeple were bitching and moaning about the one guy who actually stood up to the prick.

Why would one EVER go see him anywhere?

The novelty of hearing old songs and reliving the way those songs make us feel.

But that's just it. We go to be entertained. Not receive a political lecture from a dude who has lived in a bubble for 50 years.

JCM has had short man’s syndrome for…ever. Any criticism of him for any reason he gets super defensive & pouty.

The “ I’ll see him after the show “ is laughable. He knows his 6’7” 375lb goons won’t let anyone mess up his old man rockstar hair.

Bill Mahr did show with Mellencamp. The Club random one i believe. He asks Mahr what he thinks about Communism and Mahr kinda backs out of that ( i don't remember his exact words but he wasn't for it). Asks Bill if he's ever read the communist manifesto, Bill says no. Mellencamp says, "he should, because its a good book". He then proceeds to tout that communism is a good thing. Mellencamp, who made his millions in American capitalism says that we all need to get us some communism. Freaking hypocrites.

These people now feel safe enough to come out and publicly campaign for communism in America.

It sounds to me as if one person calls him out saying to "play music," and then the drones in the audience boo that man. Then they cheer on The Coug when he starts playing, and then boo and plead for him to come back.

That was not the sound of an audience not wanting to hear him hard sell them on Biden. It sounded like the opposite

I'm not sure who is a better example of a typical leftist pansy in that industry... Mellencamp or Neil Young.

Springsteen would be in strong contention as well.

What was he saying regarding Biden?
Nothing.

Last month, video went viral when he was telling a story about his grandmother ... and someone yelled at him to “play some music.”

“What do you think I’ve been doing you (expletive),” Mellencamp responded before flipping off the heckler. LINK
Keep in mind that this was not some huge concert. It was a small-venue, acoustic show, and those are inherently more personal. Anyone who has attended such a show understands this The heckler was rude to him for telling a personal story as part of the performance, rather than just "playing the hits" like a 20-something one-hit-wonder. Given the context, it seems clear that the crowd reaction was not a response to any political message, but a reaction to the heckler's rudeness.

I kind of sympathize with Mellencamp's reaction to the guy. I attended an acoustic show with Charlie Robison a few years ago and I cannot even imagine the rudeness of interrupting one of his stories to demand that he shut up and play his guitar.

I like Mellencamp's music, and I don't care for his politics. But here is the thing. Anyone who knows anything about him knows that he is going to include SOME political commentary in his show (even if that was not the genesis of this particular confrontation). Hell, half of his SONGS include political commentary of one sort or another.

Just like you don't buy a house near an airport and then complain about the noise, you don't go to a Mellencamp show and complain when he shares some of his political views. You knew what was coming when you bought the house/ticket.
