Exactly. Something like Common Core is long overdue. No surprise that people with undeveloped logic skills don't subscribe to it.

admittedly I don't know much about common core, but I'm OK with not jumping in bed with a monolithic approach.

We should goto the Great Books educational philosophy.

I don’t know anything about common core, my children are finished school, however I am against anything that brings about a further homogenization of our country. There needs to be a difference between NY and AL, or LA and CA, we all come from different backgrounds and value different things. The one size fits all model is what has truly screwed up the schools already. No child left behind hindered way more students than it ever helped and caused a dumbing down of curriculum. Not sure how this would be much different.
