Here's what's really funny.
The entire election the left laughed and said Trump wasn't even a Republican.
When Webb was running they laughed at him and said Webb wasn't even a democrat.
They were probably right on both accounts but were too concerned with their race and gender baiting to care.

He faced insurmountable odds, like Bernie Sanders, and he knew that going in...He trotted a trial balloon, got screwed during the debates (like trump) and faded off. I dont anticipate he will ever switch to repub...He is too grounded in the appalachian construct, history and tradition of his own genetics and his core principles.
He is a good fit for Sec Def, detractors notwithstanding...Real problem is those repubs around Trump who consider Webb, not pure, rino etc... funny how they can be so right on the issues, yet so blind once they taste the first drip of honey... bodes ill for the future Trump admin. IMHO.
