I may disagree with most things he has done during his tenure, but I would definitely have a beer or two with him.

I wouldn't. He has totally destroyed race relations in this country and has done more damage to the unity of our people than most people realize.

Same here. I may disagree with his political ideology and positions, but I've never thought he was purposefully malicious or an a-hole.

@Hillary Clinton

I'm here today to honor our democracy & its enduring values. I will never stop believing in our country & its future. #Inauguration

I'm shocked Hillary said this, but hopefully this will make some of the left realize the world hasn't ended quite yet.

I agree, and feel he wants to be an arse, but really feel that Bush was so good to him during his transition, that he understands(by example) his role in the transfer of power.

Ya, it says something that she's there, while other Democrats are sitting out.

If anyone had a reason not to be there, it's her.

You're shocked a career politician made a hollow, politically-neutral statement?

He's done some dumb shite politically during the transition but he's personally been solid.

I would shake his hand but wouldn't have a beer with him. I feel like we would have absolutely nothing in common.

He's always carried himself with dignity and class. The night before his 2009 inauguration, he hosted a dinner in honor of John McCain.

Today's behavior from him should not be a surprise to anyone that's paid attention to his tenure.

I've said all along that although I hate his positions,I thought he'd be a blast to have a beer with.

But I'm a racist because I disagree with him.

Let's call it what it is. Hillary is only there because her husband is a past President. Were she not married to Bill, she wouldn't be there.

IMO this statement sums up his high approval numbers, Trump's relatively low approval numbers, yet this high numbers relating to peoples' feelings of optimism.

The polls are showing how people feel about the man, their emotions, whether or not they like him. People like Obama personally, it's hard not to, but hate his positions. People (wrongly) dislike Trump personally, but believe he will turn things around, hence the high optimism numbers.
