Pimp of the Nation

quote:

It appears that Kid Rock’s run for the Senate in 2018 is officially happening. Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, tweeted out kidrockforsenate.com around noon Monday.

quote:

“I Believe if you work your butt off and pay your taxes, you should be able to easily understand and navigate the laws, tax codes, health care and anything else the government puts in place that affects us all,” Rock said in the attached image on the tweet.

quote:

Once again the press is wrong. First of all, I’ve got 15 days from my announcement to file paperwork with the FEC! Second, I’m not signed to Warner Bros!!! – which simple fact-checking would have revealed. I have recently worked out a unique deal with BMG, Broken Bow, CAA and Live Nation to release music ON MY TERMS. Like politicians write books during their campaigns, I’m planning on putting out music during mine and IT ALL STARTS TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT. It’s not a hoax, it’s a strategy and marketing 101! No plans for an album or anything else that has been the usual norm in the music business OR politics…..and….. Senator Stabenow and I do share a love of music, although probably not the same kind. I concede she is better at playing politics than I am so I’ll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying, hardworking AMERICANS and letting politicians like her know that We the People are sick and tired of their bullshite! “I am the captain now.” #fakenews #kidrockforsenate #kidrock #podunk #greatestshowonearth

The best part? He attached this image to his tweets:

Sit back, buckle up, and hang on. He's going to cause the blue hairs in the establishment to have a shitting hemmorage in real time.

We're gonna put Buckley's phone book statement to the test.

I'm ok with this.

It's not like we don't get fricked over regardless of who's in there so we may as well get to have some fun.

I imagine he's already called Roger Stone to help him form a campaign.

His campaign slogan should be "Full Tank, No Brakes".

Hell, not like we were going to get much in the way of candidate recruitment in Michigan anyway.

At the least he should be able to parlay celebrity into a guerilla campaign there.

There is an anti establishment tidal wave out there as evident of the Trump and Bernie movements.

He's capitalizing on that.

Folks are just tired of the shite.

While I'm certain he is smarter and more capable than that bag of rocks and gunpowder, Clay Higgins, he isn't much better.

It does show that pattern which has developed over the years that Republicans are more obsessed with celebrity than policy and governance. This movement began when the party started taking virtually all of its policy guidance from radio entertainers like Rush, Hannity, Ingraham and Savage and TV personalities like O'Reilly.

Now all the Republican party requires is that you be crude and offensive, and be some sort of celebrity.
