The most shocking political revolution in American history is going to yield exactly zero change because focus will be dominated on Russia and republican infighting.

You have all three branches of government. How hard is to craft a law? For god's sake.
Democrats have no authority right now. Ignore them

Baw come on. You may not like the taste of your AHCA medicine, but that is getting done. And tax reform is also going to happen.

Well something's bound to change or pass sooner or later. Maybe they'll pull it out with the shitty ACA stepbrother bill tomorrow. But you must know that there's more to governing than wild revelrous barking and rallies and TD and...okie doke.

Just a buncha okie doke, man.

Even as a Trump detractor, I can easily see that change is coming with Trump. It's the one thing you can't fault him over, even if you don't like said changes. You never know what's going to happen next out of him.

Trump doesn't ideologically match the GOP Congressional Delegation- he's to the left of Ryan on most things and Ryan (as Speaker, not necessarily himself) is to the left of the Freedom Caucus.

It's reminiscent of Carter- shocking rise sweeping aside the establishment, running against Washington, no real power base in DC. (Contrast this with Obama and Reagan who both brought with them significant numerical gains in their respective Congresses)

Carter's biggest problem legislatively was the Kennedy Wing of the Senate which was significantly to his Left. Trump's is the Freedom Caucus which is significantly to his Right.

I'm worried about the cost of health insurance going up without the implementation of market competition.

Without market competition health insurance cost will rise (I've seen estimates of 15% per year for the next three years) and Trump is screwed at the ballot box come 2020.

Seriously?

The AHCA is an acceptance of the premise of Obamacare. Trump's support of it cements the basic philosophy of Obamacare in place. Wasted revolution if it passes.

Don't get me wrong, the bitchy little (R)'s are pissing me off, but this stuff will get done.

They weren't unified during the election (to a great extent), so I can see that we shouldn't have reasonably expected that the great election result would bring complete harmony.

On SS and Medicare, yes.

On immigration and the BAT, no.

On taxes they are about the same.

Yep. We need more consumer choice, not less. And the only way any positive change will happen with healthcare is if the GOP delivers it. The D's having the White House or either house of Congress will kill any possibility of reform. They simply refuse to admit there are problems, even though their own governors are on record saying it's a mess.

We've been through this a million times. There is no possibility of a full repeal and replace bill until 2018, no matter how much Rand and Cruz lie about it.

Even then, we are finding out how cowardly some of the cucks like Gardner, Portman, Murkowski, and Collins can be. So 60 may not be enough.

But premiums would supposedly go down or at least be held flat with the iteration that was presented to the CBO. And taxes would be lowered meaningfully.

In the states that have allowed interstate competition there hasn't really been an impact on pricing or options.

Not for most people, the ACA's tax structure falls heavily on those making over $200,000 a year.

What does that have to do with the government denying people the right to choose a plan that suits their needs?

I don't think this administration knows how to make new policies. Looks like he is just signing? executive orders to overturn ALL of Obama's policies so it looks like he's doing something, other than having dinners and playing golf

Interstate competition between the limited, government mandated options?

Yeah, sounds like a market failure...
