Actually, a DNA test for most American Jews will show "Ashkenazi" distinct from their ancestor's country of origin. A German Jew will match a Russian Jew but NOT match other Germans. Is that "Ethnicity"? perhaps.

Its definitely an isolated genetic population that has remained unbroken until the last half of the 20th century and separates them from other "ethnicities"

If Israel is smart they do nothing right now. Lower the temperature for the time being and go back to crushing Hamas and making life uneasy for Hezbollah. The smart move is to make Iran think Israel is sleeping on all of this . There is nothing strategic to be gained by either side having a hot war at this time.

This was a face saving move by Iran and designed to elicit the response it did. Big launch that was responded to in a big way with no loss of life and minimal property damage. Someone should ask Iran, though what interest they have in causing shite in Israel fully 600+ miles from its nearest border? In the end, Persians don't give a shite about the fate of Arabs that they see in reality as second class humans.

Iranians themselves don't give a flying frick about the plight of the Arabs in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon or Syria for that matter.....and I mean the average Iranian who sees himself as Persian and of a higher cultural status then the illiterate backwards Arab.

They are an old civilization and a certain arrogance comes along with that perception. However, the have mad respect overall for Europeans ( Greeks as they refer) Because we beat them regularly historically. Byzantine, Romans and Greeks handed their asses to them on many occassions.
