If Israel destabilizes the Iranian economy and/or the Revolutionary Guard, they won’t have to destroy Iran. The people will curb stomp the mullahs.

As soon as FJB was sworn in, Russia started building up troops on Ukraine border.
Now we have Israel - Gaza and now Israel - Iran.
It doesn't look to me like "Don't" is a very strong foreign policy.
I get your inclination to frame this in domestic politics.
But this is why the Deep State matters. We project power, both hard and soft, to keep the gap between us and the Russians and Chinese. This happens over generations, not Administrations.
Until we can find a path away from the zero-sum competition for finite resources on the planet, this is the way it has to be.
