I've been saying forever that he is a 1960s democrat.

But even 1960s democrats believed in keeping America great.

I knew damn well who I was voting for when I wanted Hillary Clinton defeated. I've made my peace with it. It is what it is. I wish it was Rand Paul giving that speech but that was beyond my control.

I just hope Trump and the GOP can find enough common ground to deliver results for the american people and I'm betting they will. Both sides will give and take a lot and I'm betting it will be a decent relationship.

But Trump is largely the antithesis of Rand Paul.

If they're not getting out of the way, then they aren't helping. I'm afraid getting out of the way is not a principle of most politicians.

Yep.

Trump may not be a conservative that the GOP would like as POTUS but he's more conservative than the last few decades of the democrat party.

As an 80's kid with Blue Dog, Conservative, Union parents this isn't suprising or appalling to me.

JFK wouldn't kiss Israel's arse like Trump does.

I know.

The thing is that we had to save the Supreme Court from political activists and get illegal immigration under control and Hillary Clinton was the vehicle to make the reality of those nightmares even worse and she had to be defeated.

Trump has already rewarded my vote with a great nominee in Gorsuch and that alone was worth it.

Trump is moving into the political vacuum created by the Dims lurching hard left.

This election wasnt so much about policy. Sure I agreed with Trumps policy more but it was more of a values war than anything else. Are we ok with "tolerance" to the point of silencing? Do we value the world or our own citizens? Do we want to send the US off the progressive cliff with the supreme court or do we want the foundations of our nation and constitution to stand?
