stolen from one of the many progressive groups i follow on FB

i mean we all know that Trump-conservatives see libertarians as cucks and actual cucks see them as hippies, but the progressive angle is somewhat novel

there are some funny responses to the pic

quote:

Conservatives don't hate poor people. We aren't too fond of those who are able bodied and don't work and look for a handout though. We also don't like Suzie the sandwich maker asking for $15 an hour when I only got paid $11.26 to save lives. I've worked minimum wage jobs before. Where I'm from it's $7.25. These jobs are not meant to support entire families. If you don't want minimum wage don't have minimum skills!

quote:

You're a great example of being a part of the problem vs the solution..If min wage goes up..so does your wage

quote:

Human beings are entitled to living wages regardless of the job. Saying otherwise would be to suggest that you want to pay dirt cheap for labor, which, I'm sorry, comes from illegal immigrants.

quote:

If you're not against poor people why don't you agree with liveable wages? Someone has to do these jobs.

quote:

Why do you hold the authority over what job deserves what pay? If a person is willing to get their butts to work 40hr/wk shouldn't they atleast get enough for basic services/bills?

some do, some don't

I have a group of friends I can't even get close to talking about my more Libertarian beliefs around - and I'm actually a liberal with Libertarian leanings.

I believe the market follows what is needed, and salaries the more skills a position needs. It's why places like Panera Bread and Starbucks pay better than say... Burger King.

So yes, some do - but to lump everyone into a small window like that is just as dumb as Liberals calling all Trump supporters Nazi's

That meme is very accurate on how they see libertarians. Basically see it as a cop out.

My new favorite hobby in the aftermath of the Trump immigration order is asking my liberal friends why they aren't for (practically) open borders. They almost invariably say that our social safety net couldn't handle it, at which point I ask them how they can justify keeping dirt poor impoverished immigrants in abject poverty in order to maintain the socio-economic status of people in this country who are, statistically, some of the wealthiest in the world.

They get really, really uncomfortable

Progs and libertarians used to be alike but now the Progs are becoming deconstructionists. They only thing they share now seems to be the same view of human nature.

$200 is nonsensically high for an individual, but not for a family. On the flip side, $35 is almost impossibly low if you have unlimited text, voice, and data. Are you part of a family plan in which someone else's phone has the bulk of the charges?

Yep. Libertarians also hate women and minorities in their eyes as well, oh, and unions.

I'm part of a family plan but mine is the primary and the only one with unlimited. My bill is $130 a month with 4 lines.

That's fair. The reason I ask is that I recall years ago my mother coming to me (me being the knower of all things tech in the family) and asking why my phone costs so much more than everyone else's on the family plan. She could never quite understand that the voice and data for the entire family was tacked under my phone while everyone else was only "paying" for their data. I'm pretty sure she still doesn't understand what I was saying back then
