Is Landry already looking ahead to a Presidential run for office?

As soon as he was sworn in as LA AG, he was planning his run for governor. Now, even before being sworn in as governor, it appears he's got his eyes on the US Presidency.

How is it a political operative from North Dakota is hired to lead the LDWF? Does she have a biological sciences background or one in Law Enforcement? Maybe a background in combating CWD? This appt makes no sense at all.

Can we just elect a governor that will focus on our state's issues? We have plenty of them.

I hope not. That will create another Bobby Jindal situation where efforts to appeal to republican voters in other states will distract attention from actual issues in Louisiana, of which there are many needing attention.

Do you understand what his accent sounds like to...well, nearly everyone else in the country?

He could be reciting Shakespeare, and let's face it...he isn't, and he'd sound like a complete dumbass to 99% of America.

Or maybe he went outside the state because the good old boy network here is pervasive.

That’s the face of your new 26 year old enforcer coming for your improperly placed trail cams

You’re telling me the best he could do was a 26 year old with no biology, ecology, wildlife, or law enforcement background?

Good point. It’s strange.

The theory that he is already planning on a national campaign needs way more evidence before I entertain the idea.

Maybe he’s paying back a financial donor? That’s a very common thing with state politicians and almost expected in Louisiana.

Maybe this lady is just a bad arse. I hope someone follows up on this.

It’s a pretty good one considering this chick’s only experience is running Trump’s re-election campaign in…….South Dakota.

I don’t know. She has the same experience as any one of us that hunt/fish in Louisiana. I’m not even sure she’s done that

Timing doesn't work out for him in 2028

He would have had to announce to be a candidate for President like 9 months before his reelection to Governor.

2032, if he did some spectacular job he could take a crack at it, but his accent just wouldn't work on a national stage

Maybe. But South Dakota is not the state you’d recruit from for national recognition, in all likelihood.

Bobby Jindal says you need to wait until your second term... and then jettison everything that made you a successful Governor and led to being reelected in the first place.

Oh wait, you were serious?

To the OP: Maybe long-term. Abraham is going to run against Cassidy. But maybe if Kennedy retires at some point he could jump into that.

More likely he is just helping out a fellow MAGA governor who he sees as an ally, Kristi Noem.

Is this the best he could find for the head of DWF? No. But let's face it, that office is where you put political hacks. I just don't care that much.

Kristi Noem has a huge following nationally. My guess is Landry wants to use her platform and this is a way of returning some upcoming political favor.

The appointment seems odd but not too unexpected. At the national level, Republicans are helping young political operatives build their management/policy resumes. In the near-term Louisiana will probably see a lot of hires and appointments from out of state.

Landry has to fulfill his obligations
To the LTLA( trial lawyers) before he does anything else.

So we should prepare for Jindal’s third term?
