I wasn't meaning to say they would destroy the supply. But setting the wells on fire, blowing up the refineries and pipelines are absolutely something they would do which would set back oil production by years.

I’m also not advocating going to war with Iran. Just trying to get the isolationist to realize that completely pulling out of the Middle East would be a bad idea and would have long term repercussions for the entire world.

Absolutely, without a doubt, all these stupid wars. Even the just ones. Will have repracution beyond what anyone can predict. Thats why, despite our mistakes in the past, we should stand for what is right.

I think he’s saying that Israel exists as a western proxy nation in the Middle East is so the US can play guard dog on the middle eastern oil supply, bc if we don’t, Iran is going to snatch it all up and cause a global economic crash. It's our problem because the 200 million are determined to snuff the 7 million, and the 7 million have enough nuclear weapons to kill the species if they start firing them. So while I agree we need to GTFO of the middle east ASAP, that's going to come with some bad shite we either have to accept, like hundreds of millions of dead and missiles potentially flying our way from Russia and China, or we do what we can to make sure it doesn't get there.
We are intricately entangled in this whether we like that or not.

You provide a logical fallacy as the basis for your support of Israel as a means to counter Iranian dominance in the region. Opposition of Iranian influence does not necessitate a bolstering of Israeli defense or making Israel's success a foundational principle of American interests in the region.
Put another way, bolstering Israel because they are the enemy of an enemy is a narrow approach to a complex region. There are numerous liabilities that come along with blanket approval and support of a partner who often acts unilaterally in ways that are detrimental to the interests of other countries who are necessary partners in countering Iranian influence.
If you support Israel because of the Scofield Bible and your personal approach to Zionism, say so. Making an arguement that Israel is the best means to counter Iran is disingenuous and false.

If that's the thing that would have stopped Israel from feeling it has an existential threat against them, then yeah.
Look, I don't want to be world police either. And we can disentangle from almost all places we are currently fricking someone over in. But Israel is a problem of geography and nuclear weapons. Small geography, big nuclear weapons. And they have a propensity towards thinking they're all about to die because history has proven, they're right about that a lot.
We don't have to fight it for them, but we might have to actively help at some point to put this shite to bed. It's not going to end till someone surrenders. Diplomacy there is a joke. They will never not hate their neighbors there. Sometimes life teaches harsh lessons. This is one of those kinds of problems unfortunately.
