While Dan Rather-not was a tool and should be lambasted for his scam...as others have mentioned this fake news crap has been going on for ages. There are many so called mainstream outlets past , present, and future who perpetrate fake news and simultaneously take advantage of their status as an accepted news outlet to silence other news organizations who might dare report news that they don't want to see the light of day by deeming these alternate sources as fake news outlets.
It is a clear narrative and tactic being employed by the establishment media to lessen the influence these other sources have usurped from the establishment news media's grip of power they have enjoyed for so long. It is chilling how coordinated these establishment news outlets have become to stifle other voices of late by pushing this fake news talking point.
