Judge Reggie B. Walton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia also said the IRS must provide information about which groups were targeted and why, along with a strategy to make sure such targeting doesn’t happen again.

The IRS is involved in multiple lawsuits with conservative groups related to the Tea Party targeting scandal; this particular case involves True the Vote.

“We’re thrilled the judge has taken this step and it feels good to have it recognized that they need to be held to account,” True the Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht told Fox News on Monday. “What happened to me was very personal—my name was thrown around the IRS, and the names of the people involved need to be known. What they did was criminal.”

I would love to see the IRS's arse nailed to the wall.

It is hard to believe Lois Lerner pleaded the 5th, yet to the best of my knowledge no grand jury was ever assembled, no case ever presented.

It will just be all the more sweeter when she finally is.

Hey ANTIFA - if you really want to protest fascism, then perhaps attempted illegal central government ordered suppression of opposition, private organizations, and citizens would be a worthy cause? This is your moment to shine you beacons of anti-fascism.

It wasn't just the IRS. OSHA and every alphabet agency in the book came after Engelbrecht. It's almost like she was doing something they didn't want touched.

The individuals would get in trouble. As they should. Jail.

How exactly is the entity known as the IRS going to get in trouble?

A rather sensitive subject for me. I came as close to losing it over this as any issue ever. 2-3 inquiries in 3-4 years for me. I don't care to remember it. The outcome each time was no additional tax liability.

I'm not denying that. I'm just curious how anyone is planning to punish them as an entity? That doesn't really make sense. Maybe limit their power to prevent a repeat. As far as punishment goes, that will be handled with the individuals responsible.

Legally it can't into trouble as an institution unless you could find a coordinated effort by mid management on up to target. Then you could have an agency bloodletting.

Morally....that's another story

of all the likely criminal SOBs in the previous administration, she'd be far and away the best target. Neither side gives a hoot about defending her. The vast vast majority of Americans would be empathetic to IRS misconduct. It would be a political win, and a win for the country.
