The IRS has told a federal court that they've recently identified almost 7,000 more documents that could contain information on how the agency targeted the tax-exempt applications of Tea Party organizations or other conservative political groups starting back in 2010, according to a court document.

But IRS in the document would not commit to a timeline for releasing the documents.

The revelation of thousands of unreleased documents was made in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit from Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group that specializes in filing, and in many instances litigating, FOIA requests.

For Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton, the admission from the IRS represents a significant breakthrough. "Our attorneys knew that there were more records to be searched but the Obama IRS ignored this issue for years," Fitton said in a press release.
Also, this barely made a splash in the news back when it happened... Emails revealed that McCain (back when he was calling the tea party Whacko-Birds) may have joined the democrat, Levin-- in encouraging the tea party be scrutinized by the IRS.

I have a feeling that this may come up again when the newly found IRS documents are released?

When Judicial Watch recently disclosed the latest batch of records involving the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) scandalous targeting of conservative groups, some news outlets determined that Senator John McCain, not only knew about it, but also pressured the agency to actually attack Tea Party nonprofits.

JW never claimed the government documents establish that McCain or his staff called on the IRS to target or attack conservatives, but the records do show that former IRS official Lois Lerner was pressured by both Democrat Senator Carl Levin and McCain, an Arizona Republican, for IRS action against political advocacy groups.

I don't trust McCain or Graham as far as I could throw them. There is nothing worse than turncoats of their own party. McCain is 80 he needs to retire.

obama was bush/clinton 3, had mccain won it would have been bush/clinton/obama 4.

can't believe anyone thought that was an actual "choice".

he would probably have done about 85% of the same thing obama did in office.

You mean to tell me that McCain tried to knife unhappy members of his own party in the back using the IRS? Shocked I tell ya. Shocked.

I doubt Any Senator ordered these hits, this probably came from the White House, and suspect Jarrett told Learner to wack these groups; even if the Senators didn't like the Tea Party pressure to do the work of the People..We are Taxed enough already! Which is all the Movement was about, even though they portrayed it as racist, like they do everything...

Of course Obama was behind targeting the tea party. This is a no-brainer. But why did McCain and other so called republicans call the tea party whacko birds?

Notice: that the Freedom Caucus is a very strong caucus now and McCain et al dares to call them -outright- whacko birds anymore.

They called them wacko birds because they are the tea party - true conservatives, not pretenders like McCain.

State Department had the audacity to say it would take 75 years to accumulate clinton's emails.

Let's hope the IRS can do better by a couple of decades.

John McCain is the kind of guy that tells his colleagues in the senate that public service would be great if it wasn't for the fricking constituents.

They read Weiner's emails in 24 hours. Which they can do BTW: they have a system to do this.

But the IRS emails got lost you see...

“That’s not what happened,” he said. Rather, he said, IRS officials were confused about how to implement the law governing those kinds of tax-exempt groups. “There were some bone-headed decisions,” Obama conceded. But when asked whether corruption, or mass corruption, was at play, he responded: “Not even mass corruption -- not even a smidgen of corruption.”

So this isn't true? Shocked
