ETA: And every instance of "GCC" could be replaced with "Saudi Arabia" in that list. Basically Saudi Arabia wants Qatar to be its little trained dog.
Exactly. KSA is barking bigger than its bite right now though. KSA has more problems than it can handle tackling a bunch of sub 80 IQ hillbillies in Yemen lulz.

Asking Qatar to cut ties with Iran and not asking the UAE, which is Iran's biggest trading partner doesn't make any sense.
That whole region is just one giant contradiction.

This whole situation is a disaster and is already looking like a foreign policy fail.

Tongue in cheek cynicism...with a dose of red pepper thrown in, SC.
BTW, it's good for them to keep each other at bay over there; Saddam held that position for decades. Now....with the nukes coming...God only knows.

Yup if they can't control Yemen with American toys, they are in for an arse kicking vs Iran.

I mean, I would be highly entertained if this didn't seem reminiscent of the beginnings of WWI. All we need is some Islamist organization to kill Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud after his Lamborghini motorcade gets stuck in traffic, all the while the assassin is eating falafel or something, thinking his opportunity for assassination has passed him by.

I think I'm going to watch some al Jazeera today now.

Yep. They are fumbling around Yemen like a blind virgin on prom night, Qatar and Iran aren't feasible without full US support, and that's very unlikely
Where is that arms dealing dickhead that was here a few months ago explaining to us how KSA is some ole boys out there saving Merican lives on the battlefield? You remember that shite show?

If they take a side in all this we could be looking at a huge mess.

If Pakistan is brought up, then India has to be included in the discussion as well.

The second a Saudi tank rolls into Qatar, its game on. The border is literally what 45mins from our bases.

Haha, we should write a spoof movie with that as the plot line
I guess I should be more worried. For whatever reason, despite all logic, the west has repeatedly exacerbated wars in the region up until this point. I guess they could do it again :(

I've never traveled to the region, but isn't Doha a pretty safe, modern city where westerners can travel with relative ease?

Yeeeesh. I think that fact might cool everything down a tad.

If those two are in it, the Chinese are definitely in it. They've been working super closely with Pakistan to try to control their central Asian region.

new Doha is modern. old town isn't that bad. Its a good looking city you can get for that region. The building all have the brown sand look to the.
Outside the city is pretty run down and not safe

Maybe that's why Iran wants nukes so bad. KSA(w/USA support)>Iran; and BHO gave Iran the green light to spin uranium.

Unless Saudi really is that dumb
You have AFCENT, CENTCOM, RAF, Canadians, Aussies, French and other entities we don't talk about there.
O not to mention we have PAT sites there we could just turn from aiming at Iran to Saudi.
