If crime prevention through preemptive elimination was my only goal, I'd be for indiscriminate killing of people who fit the profile of criminals. Or at the very least, forced sterilization of them.

The latter would reduce future crime rates and abortion.

I used to be anti-abortion. Now I am jaded and want free abortions on every street corner.

What does it say about us as a society/country if we have to resort to killing babies in order to hold down crime statistics?

No shite, man. The fact that people even think this way is frightening and sad as hell.

well, it isn't a fact. no one has advocated for planned parenthood to be funded in order to keep the crime rate low.

OP was pointing out the correlation between the two as made by Malcolm Gladwell, who also, IIRC from the book, was not advocating for/against abortion, but explaining the reduction in crime in the 90s.

A lot of things we could do would make the country a safer place. That doesn't make them all the right thing to do.

Im fully behind allowing for very cheap, and accessible birth control to curb people who not be having kids form doing so but this is not the way it should be done.

I thought Bill Clinton took credit for that and credited gun control for the drop in the crime rate...

Nope, All crime dropped across all states, even though different areas had different laws.

I get this argument if you consider abortion murder. There is a good debate on what stage of the fetus is murder but I'm just telling you what's going to happen.

Oh and your argument isn't relative unless you are my parent.
