Freakonomics

quote:

from the period 1985-1997, when the post Roe cohort is reaching peak crime ages, the high abortion states see a decline in crime of 30% relative to the low abortion states.

Does this have any sway in your opinion?

How do you strike a balance between what is best for society and morals?

What does it say about us as a society/country if we have to resort to killing babies in order to hold down crime statistics?

So we should murder children in the event that it may lower crime numbers?

Let's add in the 60+ million kids aborted since Roe and see what happens to the crime rate.

My 20,000th post going to a good cause.

Well if we are going by statistics only, let's just murder only the people who are statistically most likely to commit a crime.

If you're against quick public executions for murder, rape, horse stealing, etc but argue that abortion is good because it lowers the crime rate, then you might need to reevaluate your beliefs.

I'm all for abortion supporters aborting as much as they can.

Just let the supporters pass the hat and pay for all the abortions. It's not too hard for the liberal "elite" to pick up the tab for their own cause is it?

Not me.

I think they have a very useful function. Particularly if they are gruesome in the execution.

Federal tax dollars being outlawed to pay for abortions does not equal the outlawing of abortions.

I agree with this, but it will certainly put them out of reach for a lot of folks who currently use PP.

Liberals can start charities to fund the destruction of fetuses/unborn children. It's a great opportunity for liberals to finally take action for a cause they care so much about (allegedly).

all you moral high roaders need to apply to adopt.

take on the child you save. be a mensch.

making teenaged girls sacrifice a career so you can feel better is a very interesting way to run our country.

Damn, I hope you aren't serious. If you are, I guess it is good to know there are sociopaths on this board.

So you are in favor of burning people at the stake?

Electric chair without a wet sponge?

Death by 1000 cuts?

That sort of thing.

frick, not even North Korea or Saudi Arabia are that barbaric.

Sign up for ISIS. Then you can at least slowly lower people into vats of acid like the James Bond villain you admire.

Any particular reason you're against it?

Ask North Korea and Saudi Arabia if it's a good tool to keep crime at bay. Iran seems to be the outlier however as their murder rate is relatively high. US isn't even in the Top 50 countries for crime.

Not killing babies is non-negotiable. It is not a morally relative debate position.

Dumb. You abortion supporters should just pay for it. You guys keep telling me that you are the rich, educated elite?

Start a damn charity, abort away and quit bitching already.

Abortion isn't going away.

It would be interesting to know the breakdown of peoples' reasons. I'm betting 'career' would be pretty low, but I could be wrong.
