This graph breaks down welfare usage of 2 main groups classified as native and immigrants.

Looks like the data comes from here:

You're correct. I hate that we waste so much on immigrants when we have vets and the such that could use that money and support.

People always complain about welfare and food stamps but mostly it benefits children. You oughta see the smiles on my kids faces when I whip out the ebt card and tell them we're going out for boiled crawfish. They can barely load up in the escalade fast enough!

The Center for Immigration Studies is basically a lobbying group against immigration. Any "study" they do is 100% certain to be biased at best, and very likely outright false.

so you post a graph that uses stats to show that roughly 10% of the population (the part that Trump supporters want deported) collect 50% of all welfare, and you somehow thing this graph will piss off Trump supporters?? You're a special kinda stupid aint ya.

They are just numbers. Should be easy enough to discredit since the numbers used are public and their exact methods are fully outlined in the link. I tried finding some articles refuting the numbers but I didn't find any. If you have some, I'd like to see them.

Immigrants shouldn't be on welfare. Ever. You should only be allowed to immigrate if you are a net positive.

Immigration worked a century ago because if you came here and couldn't make it, you went the frick back. There wasn't a welfare state set up for people to come here and leach. They came here and worked hard. Immigrants haven't been paying into the system and don't deserve any welfare.

Try to immigrate to Australia and get on welfare. See how that works out for you.

Have anything beyond a link to something someone said at daily kos to back that up?

Many trump supporters would be furious that any welfare was going towards immigrants, let alone illegal immigrants. Then you throw in that it is the vast majority of welfare payouts and I can't see why any Trump supporters would be happy to see that is the current reality.

Even closer, try it with either of direct continental neighbors. Illegally enter either of those countries and apply to be spoonfed off their citizenry.

Welfare is a problem, no matter the status of the recipient.

I don't think you got it.

No, it shows that 51% of immigrant households, and 30% of native households are the recipient of some form of welfare.

It shows that 42% of immigrant households, and 23% of native households are the recipient of Medicaid.

It shows that 40% of immigrant households, and 22% of native households are the recipient of food welfare/subsidies.

"Native" in this instance meaning US citizens, the graph illustrates that "immigrant" led families are the beneficiary of the US taxpayer at roughly twice the rate of US citizens.

•The average household headed by an immigrant (legal or illegal) costs taxpayers $6,234 in federal welfare benefits, which is 41 percent higher than the $4,431 received by the average native household.

•The average immigrant household consumes 33 percent more cash welfare, 57 percent more food assistance, and 44 percent more Medicaid dollars than the average native household. Housing costs are about the same for both groups.

•At $8,251, households headed by immigrants from Central America and Mexico have the highest welfare costs of any sending region — 86 percent higher than the costs of native households.

•Illegal immigrant households cost an average of $5,692 (driven largely by the presence of U.S.-born children), while legal immigrant households cost $6,378.

•The greater consumption of welfare dollars by immigrants can be explained in large part by their lower level of education and larger number of children compared to natives. Over 24 percent of immigrant households are headed by a high school dropout, compared to just 8 percent of native households. In addition, 13 percent of immigrant households have three or more children, vs. just 6 percent of native households.

The information in bold justifies the anger of Americans, not just Trump supporters. Applying a dollar figure to these statistics, in my opinion, justifies trying politicians and public officials who want to bring ever more illegal immigrants into this country for treason, and their choice of firing squad or death by hanging.

Why would a graph that seems to prove out the beliefs of many Trump supporters that illegals are a drain on government resources be something that Trump supporters would not like?

Pro Tip: When posting a link to click-bait try to at least come up with a thread title that doesn't sound click-baity.
