quote:

An Indiana city has renamed two holidays in a bid to be more culturally sensitive. Columbus Day and Good Friday will now be known as Fall and Spring Holiday in Bloomington, the Bloomington Herald-Times reports. Mayor John Hamilton, who made the change on Friday, said the politically correct names will make the two holidays more inclusive in a memo to city employees.

What will leftists do next to disregard, distort, and "erase" history? I wonder what students are being taught in American social studies classes. Recent walk-outs, riots, and protests captured on social media make it clear that some haven't learned or been taught American government and history appropriately.

It's annoying but I get Columbus Day, but Good Friday? That's an actual religious holiday. If they want to stop observing it, okay, but to rename it?

I guess those city council members don't want to be in politics anymore. They obviously haven't been paying attention.

They likely wouldn't get how it relates to what just transpired in the country

Identity politics for everybody.

America is lost.

Our architecture sucks. Our music sucks. Our food sucks.

Everything post 1940 is degenerate.

Roll it back.

This.

It would be like saying the offices are closed for Winter Holiday instead of Christmas Day.

This is hilarious.

Columbus Day was invented for "cultural sensitivity."

Recent immigrant Italians lobbied for Columbus Day at the turn of the 20th century.

It took 30 years but it finally became a National Holiday during a period where Italian immigrants felt increasingly marginalized.

Colorado was the first State to declare it a holiday btw 30 years before anyone else.

Sort of like pot, ahead of the curve.
