In focus groups seems like voters want it both ways.

The law still faces hurdles even beyond the debate in Congress. Five years ago, Cindy McMahon, who works at the store on the vegetable farm her family has owned for nearly a century, was not intending to buy health insurance, despite the law’s requirement that people have it or pay a tax penalty. She remains uninsured (and the Trump administration has suggested it may not enforce the penalty).

“If I had to pay a penalty, it’s still less than I have to pay for having health care all year,” Ms. McMahon said. At 52, she has diabetes and says the strips to test her blood sugar are so expensive that sometimes she tests once a month rather than daily. She has not looked into whether she might qualify for the Medicaid expansion; she was not aware Pennsylvania had expanded the program.

Frank Newport, the editor in chief of Gallup, said that the area of biggest agreement in polls is that Americans want the law changed. In the most recent poll, 44 percent of Americans said Congress should keep the law but make “significant changes.” That compares with 23 percent who want to keep it as it is, and 30 percent who support the Republicans’ plan to repeal and replace it.

Mr. Greenberg said the growing belief that the government should make sure people have health coverage was less an outbreak of compassion than a matter of affordability. In focus groups he conducted, Trump voters said they wanted the president and Congress to lower their health insurance premiums; they did not want to lose the Affordable Care Act’s protections against insurers charging more to people with pre-existing conditions, or denying coverage of basic health benefits.

The American people are lazy, greedy, and dumber than hell. And not a single goddamn politician has the balls to look them in the eye and tell them they can't have this pie in the sky fantasy.

Sounds about right.

We are dealing with a heavily indoctrinated electorate.

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

You can get test strips as cheap as $10 for a box of 50.

some docs are recommending not even testing daily if its T2DM and youve been previously controlled and know what youre doing

not really a bad idea. It's not really clinically actionable unless youre trying to figure out what you can and cant get away with

Like George Carlin said:

Lots of people would like to enjoy the benefits of the ACA but assume they will not be the ones to bear the increased costs of those benefits.

When they see what their monthly premiums would be or realize they will have a deductible they could never afford, they are no longer fans.

There is truth in this statement here. I have seen people bitch and moan that they can't afford health insurance pre ACA ,but yet they would grab a 12 pack daily, cartons of cigarettes, and go to the slot machines on the weekend. The amount of financially illiterate people we have who waste their money is staggering. We should not fully subsidize stupid choices that people make.

Of course we would all like that to be the case but it's not possible . We need to go back to the way it was before Obama care. If you had a job with a descent size company your pre existing condition would be covered. I have a pre existing issue and would be fine with it going back to the way it was . Even my insurance was much better and cheaper before Oabama care.

And Democrats want the franchise to be expanded. The Founding Fathers were right. Voting rights should be extremely limited.
