Day 1: 11 million
Day 2: 8.9 million
Day 3: 7.8 million

The 6 TV networks carrying Senate trial coverage on Thursday afternoon averaged a combined 7.83 million total TV viewers. That's -12% from the previous day.

The case was so well presented, nobody needed to see but one day.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see coverage disappear during the defense days

On the minus side, it means viewership will be negative by the time the defense gets to speak.

Its been trending downward daily. I wonder what tomorrows numbers will look like for Team Trump's first day. My guess is the Dems strategy was to take up all 24 of their hours to carry this into the weekend so that nobody would be watching the defense rebuttals.

Only 2.4% of the US population watched. And it's safe to assume at least half of those were Trump supporters. What a shitshow.

I said as much the first day. The R’s should make a brief appearance Saturday outlining their defense, make a few dismissive remarks about the Dim Shampeachment and then adjourn until Monday. It will take the R lawyers less than 4 hours to completely dismantle the 24 solid hours of Dim misinformation/half truths/lies.

I agree. Make everyone show up, and then just briefly outline who and when folks will be presenting starting next week. See ya.

I would think that was a bad idea. I imagine more people will be free to tune in over the weekend.

Dems we’re capable of presenting their entire case in 45 minutes. Not surprising that folks don’t want to tune in to 3 full days of cry, rinse, and repeat.

That’s a lot like the rating for a new television series (or even a new season). The premier usually has the highest ratings then it drops until (if it’s lucky) the finale.

True.

I still find it slightly amazing that the first day ratings were much lower than Comey/Cohen/mueller hearings.

Regardless of whether the Ukraine stuff is impeachable, I think Americans are tuned out.

The polls on removal closely track the polls on approval

People who dislike him want him out

People who like him want him to stay

Senators on both sides will be grateful for the reprieve from the Schiffshow they’ve had to endure the last few days.
