This always makes me think about the whole "tax the rich" argument the left likes.

The left likes to draw the line at $100k/year, which is flawed in its own right. (Salary doesn't deem someone rich by itself, net worth does. But anyway.) I like to ask "should the government make anyone "rich"?" or "should our tax dollars go to making others "rich"?".

The answers are almost universally "no they shouldn't", to which I love pointing out stuff like this. If you feel as though $100k should be the separator of middle class and "rich" (I do not, but that is for a different thread), things like this should really upset you on multiple levels.

Go take a look at the Louisiana salaries, I can't link them at the moment. But the list is out there. There are a whole lot of professors and the like in the over $75k range. I don't think it is necessarily a problem, but it does show credence to the idea that maybe we have a few too many public universities in our state.

I saw a list one time of the top paid federal employees and it seems like half of the top ten were TVA guys.

Postmaster General makes about $500K a year and loses money every single year..

At least the TVA guys break even.

This is in direct correlation with corporations gaining more power. Do you see a problem here?

Yes actually it is the Dems. Maddigan has been ruining this state for years. frick career politicians, and frick the voters for keeping him & his cronies in office.

Look at the state voting. This is Chicagos fault this state is fricked.

The overwhelming majority of these towns and counties are red, aren't they?

The counties where public workers make the absolute most (Lake, Henry, DuPage, Kane, etc.) are purple-ish with probably a slight tilt towards red. The county with, by far, the most of these types (Cook) in sheer number is deep blue.

Our state and local governments are totally and absolutely fricked. Most of the blame should go to Madigan, though successive governors, both D and R, haven't helped things at all.

I actually don't begrudge the city workers of places like Highland Park, Libertyville, Lake Forest, etc. making a lot of money because those are expensive places to live, and those areas put their money where their mouths are (they pay out way more than they get back). It's Cook County (Chicago) that is the real problem.
