The others you name, as a group, don't add up to O'Reilly's pretentiousness. He was obviously good at what he does, but he was first and foremost a legend in his own mind, which gets old night in and night out, no matter how good you are.

He's a pompous, extremely angry dick who came from A Current Affair of all fricking places to be a "conservative commentator." I always thought that was kind of a sham.

Still, it's a depressing sign that the only conservative outlet is moving farther to the left. I hope Trump doesn't help to destroy conservatism, but the way things are going and the fact that his liberal dem son in law is his chief advisor now makes me think we're all just getting played.

No, just too many stupid, ignorant, uneducated, and gullible conservatives in this country. You want proof? Alex Jones has a huge following of conservatives.

He's reached settlements with 5 women totaling $13M. That's an admission of guilt.

Based on the available information the only thing setting with five woman means is that it was the best financial decision. It is highly likely Fox forced him to settle to avoid prolong exposure. I have been sued in my former occupation, and even no there was not a shred of evidence I did anything improper my insurance company forced me to settle.

If it were truly the worst way possible, his ratings wouldn't be so good and he would not have lasted 20 years. That being said, Fox will survive either way - I personally will miss some of the Dennis Miller exchanges and occassionally Watters World has gotten better. But, someone like Dana Perino could be a nice replacement for that slot - smart, great experience working the media and politics under Bush - polite but able to stand her own ground when necessary - and easy on the eyes - otherwise, go in hard and dry with Ann Coulter, a nice contrast to Rachel Mad Cow.

I hate that he was vocal about being Catholic with his past. No one is perfect but still.

And Democrats have a huge following of people that support communism (the political system that has been responsible for more deaths than all others combined).. So what's your point exactly? I would quite honestly say the worst resides on the left in terms of sheer number of ignorant fools, that will blindly follow..

To put the communism thing into perspective, it was responsible for more deaths than all homicides and genocides between 1900-2000.. If someone that supports that isn't ignorant or uneducated, what in the hell would you call it?

He had a Legendary media run. And he covered a lot of under- reported stories . And of course he did the world an invaluable service back when he had the Russian word girl on all the time. My main beef with him was that on those rare occasions where he had a truly illuminating guest, just when I was leaning in to listen, ol Bill would talk over him. Who knows how much great analysis Bill talked Right over. It's probably time to turn the page over at Fox before it got too stale.

It was glorious the day Marilyn Manson made him look like a fool. Manson was so calm and collected and it caused ol' Bill to act like a buffoon. Never liked O'Reilly, and give zero fricks what the board thinks of that opinion. I also care not how many people watched his show, that proves nothing in terms of content or tact.

Nice to know you are flexible.

He contributes all of the proceeds from his best selling books to charity.

He is the stanchest support of Kate's Law which needs to be passed.

I don't think you can name another news anchor/opinion person that can match that.

Well, then there's the leaked videos of his true nature where he explodes due to his failure to comprehend a TelePrompter, the sexual harassment allegations that cost him millions, and his overall condescending attitude. I mean, go ahead, bury your head in the sand, George Soros is a very charitable guy also.

You are a clueless a-hole.

O'Reilly had people on that disagreed with him and hashed it out.

Fox built their empire on him.

If you want to see smug, go watch those weirdos on MSNBC that are smug as shite and think anyone that doesn't think like they do is a lower life form.

Not at all. Look at Fox's ratings. You can just fire and distance yourself. People will still tune in to see the nice legs and short dresses - conservative bias aside.

Chris Matthews - 18 years ago, the guy was swooning over GWB. Think about that and how much things have changed

Matthews has followed an odd evolutionary path over the years. He always hated the Clintons and that probably soured him on Gore to some degree but there's no chance in hell he voted for W. After Russert died MSNBC took a drastic turn from moderate left to Baghdad Bob. The last ten years they really haven't shown a liberal bias, they have been strictly shills for the Democrat Party, positions and principles be damned.
