If you were a scientist, would you take Macrons offer to research in France?

With my knowledge of general French and having visited twice. I think I would follow up on this offer. Unfortunately I lack a background in science.

No. What would France have to offer that the USA doesn't?

What do researchers gain from the Paris Accord?

Your stance is so unbelievably asinine that that one emoji doesn't do it justice.

I have a friend who just finished his doctorate in immunology, looking for a post doc position. Would like to go abroad in Europe for it, but the issue is everywhere else but the US is shite for research by comparison. They all leech off our r&d just like they leech off our military protection

If you go anywhere go to China, if you don't mind a little communism. Their research expenditure is booming while ours has been going to shite over the last 10 years. Still, it's way better to stay here.

the French are extremely nice if you just act like a normal person and make a good faith effort to speak their language.

Sorry yall hate france. I'm from Louisiana . That's literally where much of our eating drinking culture we have is from. France is actually great country if I can handle the cigarette smoking.

I am a scientist and travel to France often for work. Love it there, love the people.

But I haven't let the backwards conservatives in Louisiana chase me away to a more progressive state, and I'm not going to let the backwards conservatives in Washington chase me to a more progressive country.

If an unbeatable opportunity were to arise in France, I'd go in a second. And if the GOP's anti-science policies gain traction, the USA will eventually suffer from brain drain. But for now, I'm perfectly happy to be here spending my days doing science, my weekends watching LSU, and donating, volunteering, and voting for progressive leaders that will eventually see this place that I love prosper.

there is pretty much zero respect in biomedical circles for Chinese research. They take anything published out of China with a huge grain of salt
