He was merely stating a fact.

Mary needs to be unemployed.

Period.

Crying?? I guess I should be given the party I have supported for nearly four decades has put forth a milquetoast candidate that once was active in supporting democrats--including some of the historically most liberal--that says he will win because republicans will turn out to vote for against Mary Landrieu and they will have to hold their nose.

I prefer to help change the party back to one of conservative principle, military restraint and small government champions. I prefer the republican party that gave us Coolidge, Eisenhower, Goldwater and Reagan. You boys can have the Cassidys, Grahams, McCains and Alexanders.

Not going to vote if the control of the senate has been decided. If it is still in doubt I will do just like Cassidy says and hold my nose.

Isn't amazing how defensive of Cassidy some of these people are when he is saying he is taking them for granted?

Can you e plain the logic for this? Would you be hoping Landrieu wins? If so, why not vote for her. If not, why not vote for Cassidy?

It seems time like you are accomplishing nothing.

Has there been a thread focused on Cassidy's contempt for conservatives??

I would take anything coming out of Politico with a ton of salt.

I've met Dr Cassidy several times. He's a good decent man.

He has the street cred to take on Landrieu at her weakest spot, which is her vote for Obama Care, which still enrages the majority of Louisianans. Because of the antipathy towards Obama, this is the state's best chance to get rid of a woman who has never done anything but put her Party over her State.

What error?? You still think that Cassidy's statement was taken out of context? You are simply a Cassidy apologist.

What else can it be but contempt when he is saying is going to win as republican hold their nose to vote for him over Landrieu. He thinks he has us all in the bag regardless of his political past or future plans.

Admit you were anti Cassidy and you feigned outrage about the holding your nose quote and move on.

Think about what you are saying.

In another thread you said you are completely behind Rand Paul for President in 2016.

If Paul were to win the nomination and the general election, are you telling us you would rather have Rand Paul have to deal with Mary Landrieu than with Cassidy? That makes no sense at all. Paul as President needs help in the Senate and the House to get anything done.

It's like you're cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I'm quite sure that Rand Paul would prefer that as many Republicans as possible are sitting in Senate seats just in case he wins the 2116 election.

And don't say that you made the point that you would not vote for Cassidy only if the Republicans were to win the majority on November 4th and didn't "need" him to hold the majority - because a great majority of the Senate seats coming up for election in 2016 are Republican-held, so they will definitely be losing at least a few seats, perhaps many.

If you really want Rand Paul to be elected and to make a difference, you should do all that you can to give him every Republican seat possible this year.

Nope. Coming into the election season I was open to Cassidy. I went to a fund raiser for him and met him.

As the campaign has gone forward I have not been impressed. He was not impressive at the fund raiser and all he talked about was how bad Landrieu is.

All he talks about in his ads is Landrieu is bad and he is not Landrieu. I have posted criticism of those ads and the overall campaign. It has been very weak.

Now as important as it is to beat Landrieu "our" candidate is smugly counting on the outrage over Obama to get him elected. Landrieu is out working him and I will not be surprised at all that he loses.

Conservatives ought to be outraged at how this man has the support of the republicans power that be in the state, at how bad the campaign has been run and how electable republicans were discouraged from running.

If Landrieu wins remember our candidate ran with the strategy we will hold our nose and vote for him. Maybe that will be adequate but I doubt it.

Why not say that??

I am tired of this BS that we need to vote republican because a guy calls himself a republican. I don't want a Congress like we had in Bush's first term where republicans spent like crazy and the Delays and Lotts of the world got filthy rich.

Why is that?

You are for Cassidy and I suppose you want other people to vote for him and you call his critics and potential conservative contributors stupid because they don't like the fact that Cassidy is taking them for granted??

Tell me how that works? Have you read any Dale Carnegie or did you come by your persuasion skills naturally?

How can you construe his statement any other way?

Was he not saying that the reason he is going to win is because republicans were going to turn out and hold their nose and vote for him??

That certainly does not sound like a strategy that involves standing on some principles and rallying the troops around those principles.
